I'd be surprised if proudhon didn't actually have thousands of coins and his 3000 posts were a joke only he's in on.

He sent me and another user a BTC @ $100 after stating it wouldn't hit $100. If he's trolling, it's an expensive troll.

Proudhon is actually Satoshi. He's just trying to be modest about his creation.

Don't use BIPS!

I know, I sincerely hope he does.

And as for this post, it's gone down like a shit sandwich. Did Proudhon top himself yesterday and I didn't get the memo?

You don't seem to realize how Bitcoin is supposed to be used.

No real bear holds bitcoins up to $100.
And no real Scotsman puts salt in his porridge.

The way I see it, you can be long-term optimistic without believing that a zero-correction bull run from $13 to over $100 is sustainable. I don't think Proudhon ever implied that he thought Bitcoin would die ignobly in a gutter, just that he thought the current prices were the sort that could correct at any moment (although his constant premature predictions of the crash are starting to make me respect him a little less than I used to).

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

Meh, we'll be back there.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
