Yeah, I noticed that my GPU was idling a lot last night so I switched back to Eligius in the meantime. I left it for Deepbit earlier because of some server problems, but now it seems they've fixed it (at least for the current load). I wonder what pools are in the "Other" category on bitcoinwatch...?

Yeah, I noticed issues with BTCGuild getting overloaded again, so I ran double miners on each gpu with the second pointing to deepbit (I don't like my gpu load to fluctuate between 0% and 99%, it sometimes hangs the pc with them being so overclocked) apparently I chose the wrong pool as a backup

yeah. apparently, it has pushed a bunch of miners to deepbit. http://bitcoinwatch.com/ they're very nearly half the network now. What can we do to convince enough people off of deepbit?

Nothing wrong with it, thats ironically the problem. We dont want too much power vested into one group, regardless of who they are, so we can keep bitcoin decentralized. Hopefully this will even out as the other pools get more developed.

True..that's why he needs to break up his pool into multiple mini ones... Mini me, you complete me!

This DDos attack thing is getting stupid. Is it the pools attacking the other pools? outsiders? people against bitcoin?

Or maybe commercial miners (there are supposedly some) are trying to take down the pools so that they can have a larger proportion of the network computation power?

I'm assuming that DDoS'ing the pool's webserver has no effect on the hashing power of the pool & local bitcoin generation, they would have to flood the pool mining software with stales (which as far as I know does still happen, but that wouldn't take their webpage offline)

Or maybe their servers are just cracking under the pressure of having Pool rate: 3271 Gh/s...
