The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

I think this is worth a little more than the price of its weight in silver.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that assumption, but these were not loaded with 0.25BTC or have a hologram from what I remember.

No i think you are correct that none of the silver wallets were released funded, they are a DIY coin.
The other side is almost blank with a spot for a QR code or private key and i quite sure they did come with a hologram as it is shown in most pics.

OP can you please upload a photo of the other side?

Edit: i found this link that has a bit of info about the coin:

i won one of these about 3 weeks ago in a auction for .03 right at silver spot price but i think i just got lucky and  it should have gone for alittle more for sure

That is not a silver wallet. The following are silver wallets:

The correct name for this coins would be Bitcoin Specie (and as pointed out above, it's the Whitepaper 5th anniversary edition, limited to 100).

This is indeed a Bitcoin Specie (official thread) and the normal coins were (and still are if you contact the creator, NewLiberty) sold for a variable price quoted on coldhardca.sh. However, this is the "Whitepaper 5th anniversary"-edition of the Bitcoin Specie and only 100 were made (source by creator) by hand. These were sold for the "variable price * 2".

With the last eBay auction that I know off, one was sold for $56 according to this post. So 0.5BTC is pretty steep for this IMO, but who knows. Grin
