hello i have vps, and want to try mining bitcoin, of course it's not profitable, but i just want to know how bitcoin mining work.
any complete step to start mining bitcoin at linux ?

if you are adamant to mine bitcoin with a vps sure you can but better hope to get the vps for free if not it is a total waste,i don't want to write down everything here is a link with instructions

No, you cannot meaningfully mine bitcoin with a VPS. End of story.

This sort of thread just ends up being a dumping ground for sigspammers to push their post count.
