Hello,

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to invest 1 bitcoin in me?  I have enough free time that I think I could successfully earn 3 btc by the end of this month, at which point I would send you 2 btc.  The main problem here is there is no way for me to guarantee I will return your 1 btc so I must ask for your trust.  If you have any questions please send me a pm, also my wallet address is 16b2Y7riGZLQdhCbd1iyZufcpB2QWb6ziv.  Please post if you send me the 1 btc I am asking for so others will not do the same.

Thanks

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

If you can tell us how you plan to do it then I will not report this as a possible scam.

I plan to buy an sell bitcoins, trade them if you will.  During certain points in the day I have noticed it tends to hit a high, and then at other times drop.  The market is volatile enough that decent profits can be made from amounts as small as 1btc.  I can't tell you everything since I would then lose some advantage over other traders.  I would be using Mtgox.com, and dwolla.  I am registered and ready to go on both end, I just need the initial investment  I understand how this may look like a scam, but it is lagit.  I have done this in Project Entropia (now Entropia Universe), and made a few k usd.  The reason I am not using that money is that I enjoy starting from scratch and making something.  If I must I will mine 1 btc using my 4.96Mhash/sec graphics card, but it will take a while.

Yeah. Unfortunately, this is why this forum exists.

I get what you are saying, but being able to come to a viable business plan which motivates others to invest in your idea is a big part of starting from scratch, in my opinion.  I realize that to most a 100% gain isn't worth this high of a risk, but I am hoping someone will have a bit of faith in me.  If no one does then so be it.

Can we agree everyone has been warned I could be a scammer, and leave this thread alone?  I have no way to prove I am not going to scam you, the most I can do is give you my word that I have no intention of scamming anyone (if I did I would go for more then 1 btc).  However as we all know on the Internet ones word is worth nothing.

FYI:  I know this is a long shot, but I figure the worst that can happen is I am told to bugger off.

Ok, so what's the turn around time? If I invest 1 BTC when will I get the 3BTC promised?

BTW: I am being serious now.

I was originally thinking you would get 2 BTC total, not 3 BTC total.  However given the risk 3 BTC in return is fair.  My estimate is that you would get your 3 BTC around the middle of July.  Although this is just an estimate, anything could happen.

PEDTrader, I usually don't bother in general about people posting stuff like this. I'm doing it because you mentioned Entropia. You realize 1 BTC is $20 and what you doing is making you look bad. If you made what you claim in Entropia, i doubt you started from 0.00 and were asking for free PED or if you happen to be sweating to get a start, you could easily risk $20 to buy you 1 BTC to get you going. This would be simply starting from scratch same way if you would get someone to donate it to you, because its 1 BTC.

Tell me your Entropia name and VU when you started and if its true what you saying I will vouch for you.

I am simply asking, no one is required to give 1 BTC to me.  Also in Entropia I had a lot of help getting what I did.  I got many gifts from people, and later on loaned them money when they needed it so they could buy equipment they needed cheap.  I did get burned a few times, so I know what it is like, and I understand people being a bit wary.  Personally I like to see the best in people.  In total I lost 500 dollars because of loaning money out to friends who ran off with it, but the money was never a big factor for me (I never deposited anyways).  Most of the people I loaned money and items to were trustworthy, and returned the money when they could.  Of course I could be lying, but 20 bucks isn't worth all this.

Entropia Universe wise I will not tell you what character I am.  However if you must know I started the VU before the unlimited amps stopped dropping, I forget the VU number.  The graphics sucked, you could swim as fast as you could run, there was no falling damage, the malls were not out yet (CND was), mining still required skill, sweat cost .8 pec a bottle (I might be wrong on this), and there were no guides.  Believe me what I did in Entropia Universe was no lie, I traded and worked my way up, but it was not without a helping hand from some people in the beginning.  Take from this what you will, I might be faking this I might not, but if it is so much trouble then forget I even asked for 1 btc.

As for the wanting to borrow the 1btc, I like to start each venture without any initial investment.  Sure I could invest in myself, but then why not just deposit a couple hundred grand and make a ton of cash.  It isn't about the money for me, it is about starting from nothing (as if I was dirt poor), and making something of it.  I realize this sounds fictitious but it isn't, I am just a very weird character.  Anyways forget this thread exists, and ignore me that is just fine.

FYI:  If I wanted to rip someone off I would of gone for more then 1 btc.

Hey, just borrow a decent Gfx-Card from one of your friends that KNOW you, and CREATE 1 btc, then give the card back, then u can try to trade around with your 1 btc... It took me 3 days with an 5830 to create one, no big deal Wink

PEDTrader, I never said you are here to scam or anything along those lines. Now that you got your 1 BTC everything is solved.

I suggest mod closes this thread because he got what he asked and he can be in contact with his donator via PM

My loan of 1 Bitcoin to PEDTrader is off to a good start.
(PEDTrader started this thread by asking someone for a loan of 1 Bitcoin.)
Just a few hours after I sent out the Bitcoin, PEDTrader responded with a polite and friendly private message to me.

What intrigues me is that he plans to trade Bitcoins, rather than mine or exchange for merchandise or services.
And there are others on this forum, also starting to trade for profit.
That is a healthy development that will add liquidity to the Bitcoin environment.
I want to encourage it.

The next chapter in the story of PEDTrader borrowing a BitCoin from me is positive for PEDTrader's reputation, but uncertain for his trading project.

Positive: PEDTrader is keeping me informed.
He sent a clear and polite PM to me, right after the Mt.Gox melt-down.
To his credit, he did not just take the BitCoin and disappear.

Uncertain: PEDTrader explained what we all know:
The problems at Mt.Gox cast a pall of uncertainty over the entire BitCoin market.
Affects everybody involved with BitCoin.

Another observation: Before starting this thread, PEDTrader made only a few other posts on this forum.
Nothing much of interest, but he did post a little bit.
After receiving my BitCoin loan he has not posted anything else, anywhere on this forum.
Hmmmm.

To be continued.
