Hey guys, started a new mining farm and wanted to share my journey so far, will be releasing new videos every few days or weekly on new things, for the seasoned miners this won't really help but for the newbies it will help a lot. Starting with 10 rigs for Phase 1, adding an additional 5 if amps for home use permits, built a dedicated rack for it etc.. Phase 2 will be housed at an office space with phase 3 power and running another 30-40 rigs in the next couple of months. These are my videos so far; Next videos will be things like how to setup mining for Ethereum, how to setup mining for Zcash, how to Bios mod cards etc.. Ethereum and Altcoin Mining Farm - Part 1 Introduction - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2HGHzGwHOAEthereum Mining Farm Frame - Part 1 Extension - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7RjEoOQSRUEthereum Mining Rig & Zcash Mining Rig - Part 2 How to Build - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ICXvxQb6H0Ethereum Mining Farm Live - Part 3 Running - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDUzo95ZkqM

Nice setup, wish I had the time, the power, and the space to do something like that.

You can half your amperage if you use 240v to the power supply. I run all my rigs except 1 on 240v. I have dedicated 4 double pole 20 amp breakers. I have them split to run two rigs each. Could easily add a third rig and be safe with less than 80% load on those breakers. I run 380x so my power usage is higher than the 480. Just dont overload your home because most only have 200 amp service in the US. not sure about other countries.

i would have used the rm1000i instead of the ax1200i, the latter is too expensive for just 1000w, you can safely run 480 on a 1000w, hell i'm running 6x1070 on one of these...
not many know this but the 1000w can actually draw up to 1050-1100w

Better add a photo! I hope you have some big fans pointed toward that thing... The proximity of all those cards is going to generate massive amounts of heat in a very confined space. I would have kept a bit more separation between the two shelves, but as long as you have good air movement at all times you should be ok.

Cheers for the comments guys Eyedol-X - Thanks mate!! Navydude, no choice here, all 240v - here in Australia we only get 80AMP to the house, so hence only 10 rigs, each are drawing around 3.5-4 amp on Ethereum, about 2/3's that on Zcash. I'll be setting up phase 2 at a business premisis with about 3-4x this equipment! Bittawm - don't understand sorry mate? do you mean components? if you are looking it's all in my youtube videos here - https://www.youtube.com/user/ZiljTVAmph - wanted the platinum's for efficiency and as little wastage as possible, power here in Australia is stupidly expensive it'll definitely pay for itself and to be safe, when I was testing RX480's, some couldn't handle such low mv for core/memory and had to be tuned higher, 1 rig needed over 1100 watts to dual mine 180+mh/s and Sia. Won't be dual mining though, most likely just Eth and Zcash 50/50 from next few days onwards Za1n - got a couple fans blowing the air around, it dropped temps by 10-15 degrees on the cards, even though it's still warm in the room air con can't keep up, it still helped a lot the cards are running around 60-70 degrees with fans not maxed out yet.

Amph - I leave myself open to being able to do anything and not being tied down to certain aspects, the original intentions were to dual mine, but with library/Siacoin dropping the way it has been, it's almost not worth it at all, so not dual mining right now. This is also why I've gone with 8GB cards instead of 4GB cards, just future proofing. Mzie - Right now, Aircon and 2x smaller fans circulating on the cards, it's helped a lot and dropped temps by 10-15 degrees across the cards even though the room is still pretty hot. Dagarair - Cheers will take a look I'm guessing Texas ambient temps are quite high?? 40 degrees here is not uncommon at all, which is 104+ in Fahrenheit terms. For my home setup just looking to put a couple of exhaust fans in the roof, 250-300mm fans, they only draw about 15-20 watts. For the larger setup 30-40 rigs coming I'll definitely be using large fans just to push air instead of air con. I don't think the air con will keep up at all with a large setup.

Very nice setup, I am looking into doing something similar, although probably on a smaller scale. Is there a parts list that you can recommend? I think the biggest issue for me right now is that it has been so long since I have been mining, I don't know the current ins and outs of mining hardware. A guide on where and what to buy would be very helpful

Very nice setup. I wish I'll soon reach that point ! But why are you placing a GPU on the motherboard ? You're loosing one slot that way.

DebitMe - I'll try updating my lists to include where to buy parts. Redrose - I did have a split ribbon cable which sits under the cards in the bottom row, unfortunately I ran out of these, so will be moving the top row cards onto the rack itself and just using more risers for now I just have an 11th rig setup over in the corner running the other cards. BTW guys with current 5.0 version of claymore Zcash miner, RX480 is showing up to 120H/s, averaging 100H/s from the pools side. Next videos will be how to bios flash a card/how to change settings in wattman/how to setup Ethereum miner for ETH or ETC, How to setup EXP mining (Ethash same as ETH/ETC), how to setup Zcash miner etc.. don't forget to subscribe if you want to follow along my path, I am currently taking expressions of interest for Phase 2 for my next setup which will be 30-40 rigs from my investors, so this will be up in the next couple of months as well!! - https://www.youtube.com/user/ZiljTV
