Do you ppl get the trc wallet to sync??? Mine is stuck on "3 hours back" (when syncing the blockchain)
I'm having the exact same problem. I'm glad to see someone else is having it. I was worried it was just me. Same here, Client is stuck at block 100626, restarting didn't help. To give it a try, I freshly installed 0.1.3-28 on another machine, didn't help, once arriving at 100626 it's stuck. Checking Cryptocoinexplorer.com which is also stuck at 100626. Checking http://dustcoin.com/mining which also shows 100626. What's up?

Is it possible this could be the result of an attack?
The other day there was a topic about someone who had >51% of the TRC network hashrate

Or it could be that everyone left after spiking the difficulty...

I guess it could be an attack, OR simply by this diff ("difficulty" : 66974.93661016,) just no block is found in the last 4 hours and miners abandoned

ya.. PPC and TRC are quite vulnerable to the ASIC's just coming in for a short period and then hitting the road in a a hurry. IMO that is a HUGE benefit of LTC/NVC in that legit CPU/GPU's have to be used to snag them coins

Hmm... so miners are still hopping on and off depending on the difficulty...

Hmm... so miners are still hopping on and off depending on the difficulty... Possible I suppose. But even at this difficulty, 4 hours seems a little excessive for not finding a block.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th. The Attorney: I would advise you do that. Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor? The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law. 19GpqFsNGP8jS941YYZZjmCSrHwvX3QjiC

Been looking at the debug logs of the various TRC daemons I have running on different servers.
It seems clients are in disagreement about the highest block. I am seeing the clients giving different heights when they query each other.
I have started a clean chain download, and will see what the debug log reports.

Clean download got to Block 100626.
I have other clients stuck in blocks a little under the 100000 block.Never mind, I found that had overlooked updating this particular client with the protocol change. The one on my personal computer..go figure.. , the daemons on the public facing servers I remembered to update.

So can you tell us what is going on. Is this a 51% attack?

it's just the difficulty is way too high for the few miners remaining Most of the miners jumped off the boat, while diff was the biggest TRC ever had til now...

IMO that is a HUGE benefit of LTC/NVC in that legit CPU/GPU's have to be used to snag them coins It's not as a big deal for ppcoin, as ppcoin's adjustment is not super fast you would need a few days to pump the difficulty to that high. Moreover, when proof-of-work blocks becomes sparse there are still proof-of-stake blocks to save the day. We have seen this before and ppcoin network so far handled those incidents reasonably well.

I do not think so, but going through the debug.log I am seeing clients connecting that fail at block 99996, which are clients in need of updating to the new targeting protocol. Perhaps enough outdated clients, matched with the crazy jumps in difficulty is causing blocks not to be found. I am not sure at this point.

Crazy high diff (we had 6% of btc hash power at one point?) combined with people on old clients. It will get sorted out when people realize they need too update and the diff finally gets back to normal.
Good timing with vircurex being down though, at least no one can buy or sell trc right now.

Edit: no it's not 51% that is something different. This is too few people mining combined with the difficulty slowly readjusting. In my opinion it was better when the diff was allowed to widely fluctuate. Then at least it was accurate.

This is too few people mining combined with the difficulty slowly readjusting.
Is that an educated guess or the actual answer? If the number of people mining drops drastically it causes this? Or...

Yeah coinotron showing only ~30GH mining TRC right now. At the current difficulty that's about 2~3 hours a block.
Unless those 30GH starts pulling out as well just be patient I guess. Next adjustment is supposedly at 100650 I think.
