in the other hand this made me think in a different way, i know that some people out there especially early adopters are holding to few thousands of LTC , this price dropping will just make them sell some of it which will be good to make sure that new holders and users get their hands on it ... more people having LTC on their hands will make the price solid and rise fast and will make LTC even stronger, otherwise this is the idea of the cryptocurrencies, decentralization which means not only in the hand a fewer which lead directly to this few controlling the future of that currency .

again looking to the charts , a month before LTC was @ 0.2$ it went up till 5.9 $ than it started again dropping i wont say crashing but LTC  still raised 10 times more than it was a month before, this is huge we didn't see this even with BTC

take a look here http://www.ltc-charts.com/period-charts.php?period=1-month&resolution=day&pair=ltc-usd&market=btc-e

I bought LTC before the huge boom, I put maybe 10% of my BTC into it.
Didn't sell at the peak because I believe that not only is LTC the second leading currency, but it's also the first that does scrypt.
We have 2 major changes coming to the ecosystem this month - firstly the widespread use of ASICs, secondly the acceptance of LTC at MtGox (I have faith)
The first change will undoubtedly push the minor miners into alt currencies like PPC, TRC, FRC or w/e
The second will undoubtedly cause LTC prices and acceptance to increase.. a lot.

So - currently I am 80% invested in LTC, 20% in PPC and am mining PPC.

I regret only that I have no more money to buy LTC.  Cry

Can't add anything to this.

My issue with BTC now is they will be dominated by elite rich companies on ASICS.

LTC is something anyone can mine.  LTC is truly a currency for and by the people IMHO.

Ever think how funny it is that BTC founder(s) remain anonymous and it is getting major corporations support - no change from the status quo - the rich win?

It's basically the same as BTC: don't panic but buy and hold (or purchase good stuff/services with it). Exchanges are not for the weak.

I sold at around $3.50. I couldn't take the downward spiral any longer.

Wild ride LTC took us on this past week. After the mass exodus I see it leveling off at around the $2-$3 range.

Yes!!! Buy high sell low!

What major corporations ?
CNN, CNBC, NBC?

Western Union, Bloomberg?

Just a few....

I read on IRC as this exploded speculation that the real developers of BTC were well connected quant fund managers working in Wall Street/London etc. - and our "Japanese friend" is a spokesperson for a group of sophisticated and well connected devs - hence the widespread media coverage, and is part of a feeling among corporations and politicians to move the world to a SINGLE digital paperless currency.

Why not a single mention of Litecoin in the press when on percentage terms it rallied MUCH more?

Simple rule of the main stream media - Simplify and exaggerate

Bitcoin is the shorthand term for all crypto currency.  Starting to talk about Litecoin, PPC etc is far too complex for the average reporter, never mind Mr and Mrs Average consumer - so they just ignore them.

Its like Linux is the term for open source, even if its BSD or even Windows based! Wink  The technical truth is irrelevant to the media!

The origin of Bitcoin was just an experiment and I very much doubt it was a plan of the super elite.  They don't do things like this.  What they do is wait until its already accepted, then they pounce, because they have time on their side.
