So ive been reading a tiny amount of articles, and people are saying there generating 100 bitcoin a day... but when I look at the steam store to pay in bitcoin, its says 1 bitcoin is worth 995 CDN $.  That means these people are either making seriously over 100,000$ a day?Huh OR that I'm not understanding this correctly.
I have this, does anyone have a rough estimate of how fast this would generate bit coins? I also have a GTX 1070 card:
 Processor   Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

Any wisdom is very appreciated Smiley

Warm Regards.

where did you see that price and what the hell is CDN?
steam store uses bitpay and bitpay uses the current market price which is currently ~$730 for bitcoin. and you don't pay 1BTC instead when you buy a game for $50 value you pay 0.06849315BTC and there is no difference so Steam is earning what they used to earn even after starting to accept bitcoin.

i am no expert in mining but you can no longer mine with your PC, the has rate you get from it is not enough anymore.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I think you will need to read a little bit more. You cannot mine bitcoin anymore with CPU or GPU and be profitable. You need asic and its a rough business.
Read on the forum and you will learn a lot.

Good luck and welcome in the bitcoin community!  Grin

He probably read some article dated back to 2009-2010. Back then you could mine 100's of coins a day and trade it all for a penny.

For sure you didnt read it well and I assume you just read the current  price of bitcoin on CDN value and the game on steam are just cheap which you will definitely calculate on how much is the equivalent of it on CDN. It doesnt mean  they earn 100 bitcoin per day. About mining on PC, its not possible already because of the difficulty on mining bitcoin you will need asic miners to do so.

Locking this topic. Enough answers. You cannot meaningfully mine bitcoin with a normal PC and you won't earn even 1 cent per day mining with it.
