Christmas Contest ResultsThank you for participating within our
Christmas Contest!
It has been a difficult task to decide in between the three submissions which one would win the prize, as all answers have some interesting elements to them which we enjoyed reading and imagining. We appreciate all three submissions and therefore decided to reward the participation within the Christmas Contest accordingly, meaning that
also place two and three are winning a prize.
However, as we still had to make a decision,
we selected hatshepsut93 for winning the first prize, one Woodcoin's Guardian card, because thinking of our galaxy being mainly inhabited by species that live in peace resembles to a great extent our vision.
How do you envision this collision of the two galaxies?
At first, the upcoming collision was met with fear and uncertainty in both galaxies. The dominant civilization of Andromeda Galaxy included various inorganic life forms who were threatened by organic life forms for millions of years, until finally reaching peace and balance. But in the end, inhabitants of both galaxies managed to establish contact and begin cooperating for the common good. Collision itself proved to be devastating to millions of planets and stars, although everyone had thousands of years to prepare for it and no lives were lost. As the result of collision, many new resources were formed, which boosted technology and science in both civilizations. One of the planets, previously unexplored due to it's hidden location, was now revealed, and its first explorers found a very strange and cryptic message...
Which values have risen to the top in our galaxy?
After millions of years of progress and exploration, humans and other species of our galaxy came to understanding that peace is a prime value. For the majority of the time before the collision, there were no wars in our galaxy and all races lived in mutually beneficial cooperation. Still, they understood that not everyone in the Universe could share their views and there are armories full of deadly weapons, lying deep beneath the surface of some planets. Intelligence became the most important personal trait while beauty and wealth are viewed as secondary.
How do you envision our galaxy in some billions of years?
97% of planets in our galaxy will be populated and there will be thousands of sapient species. Some of them will be colonists from other galaxies, others are much more older than humanity. There will be all kinds of advanced technology like AI, cybernetics, genetic modification, Dyson spheres, faster than light traveling, etc. One of the notable examples of such technologies are enormous living star ships and even artificial living planets. As for politics, the government became a thing of a long past history, because everyone understand their responsibilities and cooperate on a fair and voluntary basis.
Congratulations, hatshepsut93!Second place goes to Cryptorials:Fun game. OK, here's my idea:
The evolutionary concept of our galaxy is individuation; the survival of the fittest. Genetic variants survive if they can find a niche in which they can make use of the resources of the ecosystem they are in more efficiently than competitors, then they seek to expand their territory. Dominant species, such as humanity, use economic competition to expand their individual lifespan, territory and power through technology. God-like individuals, living thousands of years, may dominate many worlds.
The evolutionary concept of the other galaxy is collectivism. Genetic variants are allowed to survive only if they are useful to the established ecosystem. Symbiosis, and its shadow parasitism, are the order of the day. Planet-wide intelligences draw together individual species in harmonious conflict free wholes, but individual freedom is non-existent. Rather than being based on the manipulation of inert matter, ‘technology’ is based on genetics and the use of highly specialised species breed especially for their task.
The clash is therefore between beings which consider a planet to be simply a resources for individuals to use, and those which consider individuals, and even whole species, to be simply a resource for planets to use.
Describing your vision of the two contrarian evolutionary principles in both galaxies was fun to read. Also, as we can already see especially with Tau the Time Traveller, your idea that insanely powerful individuals would exist certainly is true.
You may choose whether you would like to have either one Tau the Time Traveller card or one exemplar of the next card.Congratulations, Cryptorials!Third place goes to GreenBits: How do you envision this collision of the two galaxies?
The collision of this two galaxies (the Andromeda Galaxy and our own Galaxy) that will happen 4 billion years from now on(based on theory). With this collision it can collide our galaxy stars and the Andromeda Galaxy stars , because of the different gases of the two galaxies it can make new stars or even a new planet, and lastly, the Andromeda Galaxy have a trillion stars than our galaxy that have only a billion stars and because of the spaces of our galaxy, the Andromeda Galaxy stars and planets of it will fill the spaces of our galaxy or it will merge the planet and stars to make a new stars and planets.
Which values have risen to the top of our galaxy?
In the top of our galaxy, it have a creatures that have a high intelligence than ours, and they living with a high end technolgy. With the help of thier technology they exploring our galaxy to find new habitable places for their race, and they still finding a new life form.If they find a new races they make tournament between their race and the newly find race to knows whos the strongest of all.
How do you envision our galaxy in some billions of years
In billions years from now on,due the collision of the two galaxies some of other races and our races that survive they decide to make a agreement to make peace and to help each other like sharing their technology to others that they lack of it and they decided to interact each other by visiting their own planet. But it have some races that they want war and colonize other planets.
You also had the thought of peace for our galaxy which is great - unfortunately hatshepsut93 was a bit faster with this thought.
Also the thoughts on new planets and stars being created upon the collision is nice.
You will receive either one Tau the Time Traveller or the third card, depending on how Cryptorials chooses.Congratulations, GreenBits! Please send me your address so I can send you your prizes. Looking forward to the next contest - if you have any ideas for what you would like it to be about, we are happy to hear from you.
