As an endeavour to further strengthen the connection with our community, we hereby are offering you to become part of the Age of Chains trading card game and universe. We will turn you into a character and create a Bitcoin based crypto collectible using the Counterparty protocol. Our card and character creation always has been driven by our futuristic vision, our aim for high-quality art and our desire to bring knowledge about decentralization towards the world we live in. Each of our card creations is a feedback driven process with lots of care involved to assure the compliance of our goals. Feel free to check the art of our previous trading cards.

The Character Creation package includes:

1. Character & Card Concept:
Together with you, we will develop a character concept that suits you well while fitting in the Age of Chains universe. You can decide if you want your character to be part of the decentralized Milky Way galaxy or of the corrupt Andromeda Empire.

2. Card Creation:
We will select the best of our illustrators for your card creation to assure the high-quality standard we envision for your card. You will have a chance to give feedback on certain stages during the card creation and if possible, we will make changes to the concept according to your vision. The card creation process may take up to two to three months, as a lot of detail work is involved in order to reach perfection.

2. Card Illustration
Get a high resolution image of your card so you can enjoy it in full detail!

3. Card GIF:
In order to make your character and card more alive, we will partly make it animated. Check here for an example.

4: Speed Art Video
To make the experience of seeing your own character being developed even more enjoyable for you, we will create a speed art video of the card creation and publish it on our YouTube channel. Check here to see an example.

5: Blockchain Trading Card
We will define a total supply of your card and tokenize it on the Bitcoin blockchain using the Counterparty protocol. To let you become a true owner of your card, you will receive 5% of the card's total supply. The total card supply will be between 1.000 and 50.000 cards.

6. Physical Collectibles
You will be receiving 10x hand sealed and signed paper wallets (21cm x 29.7cm) showing your card illustration on one side and containing the wax sealed private key with your card stored on it on the other side. Check the gallery in this blog post for examples.

7. Be Part of a Video Game
The ultimate goal of Age of Chains is to become a fully developed trading card video game for desktop but at this stage, there is no assurance that the project will reach this goal. Therefore, you can consider this as a bonus: If we reach our goal, you and your character be part of the most intergalactic blockchain trading card video game the world has ever seen. In any case, with your support you are laying the foundation for this endeavour to keep the galaxy decentralized!

Very nice blog post, thanks for sharing!  Indeed, I think that Counterparty is a very good choice for a project like Age of Chains.

If you just allow me to be a bit nit picky, one could argue that Namecoin was actually the very first NFT blockchain - because names on Namecoin are exactly NFTs (although the crypto gaming crowd doesn't typically know about it, or would consider anything non-ERC721 as "NFT").  Namecoin even supported atomic transactions ("multi-send") right from the start, with which you can trustlessly trade NFTs (names) for crypto (NMC).

Card 011: Quarks, Master of Black Holes

You have here the chance to bid on an exclusive wooden, handmade Age of Chains sculpture of the head of Quarks, Master of Black Holes (Series 2 Card 011).
This sculpture has been carefully crafted by a professional Austrian sculptor who previously has also done this piece of blockchain related art.

It is made out of basswood and its measurements are:
Width: 25cm
Depth: 14cm
Height: 26cm (without foundation) / 39cm (with foundation)

The foundation has "Age of Chains" engraved and a wax sealed drawer in the front. By removing the wax seal, you will be enabled to pull the drawer out, granting you access to the associated BTCitcoin private key which is loaded with the digital Quarks, Master of Black Holes trading card (stored as an Omni token on the Bitcoin blockchain).

By owning this unique piece, you support the vision behind Age of Chains of creating an intergalactic trading card game wherein we thrive to teach the world the benefits of blockchain technology for our society and beyond. Background Story

Aquar, a species that well before our time once prospered on this now deserted planet called Xu’Danar.
Their ability to bridge cosmic constellations through their remarkable understanding of decentralized networks quickly gave rise to their culture within the Golden Era of the Cosmic Union.
For billions of years, the Aquar have been known as the gatekeepers between our and the spiritual world.
By constantly furthering their sacred knowledge about the varios dimensions, they became true masters operating in between them.
It is them with whom human and otherworldly shamans often interacted during their spiritual journeys when seeking help from non-ordinary reality.

One particular Aquar, Quarks, already as a young child surprised his relatives with the sheer incredible astronomical and spiritual knowledge of his.
This led to the belief that he is chosen to serve as a guardian to those who are rightfully in need of help.

And so it came that he kept travelling the universe and dimensions both physically and spiritually to fulfill the god-given prophecy of him helping others.
Since then, more than billions of years have passed and the tribe of the Aquar has almost faded into non-existence.
Only a few of them are still alive, though scattered throughout the corners of this sheer gigantic universe.
Quarks himself is said to be one of the few prevailing descendants of this intergalactic tribe of which only a handful remain.

It is now that Quarks has returned to his home planet looking to discover the secrets of his ancestors.
Beneath the desert of Xu'Danar resides what used to be the cultural center of the Aquar.

Having carefully studied both the physical and spiritual realm within the different realities of our universe, Quarks possesses inherent power to manipulate matter in any given state.

Xanthrax climbed his way to the top by ascending into the highest form of the Maitory, a Czar Hadir. He became a being which could ingest and produce venom, toxins and gases at will. It is rumoured that the extinction of the Olomy species was caused by Xanthrax alone as he created and released a nerve poison into the groundwater based on the Olomys DNA.

This physical edition of Xanthrax is strictly limited to 50 pieces only!

The Xanthrax Floppy Disk Edition comes with a holographic image of Xanthrax.
