Your account is protected with cryptography, the same as bitcoin and all other crypto currencies. The best way to keep your tokens safe is to be vigilant on the security of your machine. If your computer is compromised, everything on your computer is at risk. Otherwise, to date, it would take a quantum computer to crack your private keys

I have not had this issue. Have you tried saving your .dat file and deleting/reinstalling Machinecoin? You can also check previous versions no earlier than 13.x.
Also, try checking your firewall to make sure Machinecoin is not being blocked.
