AXON is a re-named clone of AXIOM with default ports one port-number higher and one of the four "magic bytes" changed to prevent it connecting to AXIOM instances.

It has been created because a catastrophic fork happened in the AXIOM chain, leaving the players of the Galactic Milieu on a different fork that the one used by the only exchange that is not itself inside of the Milieu.

Thus the banks markets etc in the Milieu can go ahead using AXON where they had been using AXIOM and their accounting will still be in synch with the actual blockchain.

Otherwise they would have faced catastrophe.

AXON is at https://github.com/knotwork/axon

The addnode to use to synch blockchain with it is dvcstable01.dvcnode.org

Use your existing AXIOM wallets, and, if the fork of the AXIOM blockchain you are currently on is NOT the one used by Yobit exchange, you might actually already be on this chain but of course you are calling it axiom. If that is the case copying your .axiom directory over to the new name .axon would work fine, you'd be still on the same fork but be using the new name for it. If that works, you would then do a re-synch of axiom rather than of axon, as your task would be to get in synch with Yobit's fork of the axiom chain.

I was worried about my Axiom becoming a sporked coin.  Good idea to fork this thing once since its spiraling out of control.

Any chance you can help my lazy keister and make a windows binary and place it in the repositories?

So what do I do with my axiom now? Will there be a swap.

THIS IS A NEW COIN, AXIOM CONTINUES, AXIOM IS EVEN ON AN EXCHANGE (Yobit).

IF the AXIOM chain you are on is NOT the one Yobit uses though, then chances are good you are on the chain we are now using for AXON, if so you can just copy your axiom data dir over to new name and use it as is. Then you can go about synching your AXIOM with the chain Yobit is using.

IF the AXIOM chain you are on IS the one Yobit uses, then you will need only the wallet from it to use with AXON as the AXON blockchain will need to be synch'd.

Of course it is also possible you are not on Yobit's fork nor on the one we turned into AXON, oh well you can still use your wallets with AXON.

It is better than a swap, it is the same blockchain up to the point where the fork happened.

Do I understand correctly that the coin will run on the same network?
And it does not require any action?

NO.

The whole point of this new coin is precisely to make sure the two networks do not confuse each other. By using different ports and a different connection-handshake we ensure AXON and AXIOM are separate networks instead of being a chain-fork disaster which is what it was before. (Some folks were on an AXIOM network that Yobit exchange used, many were not. Now everyone can be on both without the two screwing each other up.)

You need to set up AXON client and then match client (AXIOM or AXON) to whichever of the blockchains you happen to have, either using AXON on your existing blockchain if your existing one is NOT the one Yobit uses and IS the one we turned into AXON, OR using AXIOM on your existing blockchain if your existing one IS the one Yobit uses.

Then the other client will want the other blockchain, by synch-ing with whichever it is that you aren't currently using.

Oh my god, this is so complicated. How do I find out what chain I am on? Huh  I have some axiom in an old wallet at home and some on yobit right now. Maybe its better to sell whats on yobit and then try to do the same with whats in my wallet. I really hate when the developers pay no attention to their coin and then shit like this happens and fuckes over the little guy who has little experience in this field. This is bullshit. from now on im sticking to coins that only has active development or large market caps.

Yobit is on one fork of the chain, a bunch of other nodes were on another.

Withdraw some from Yobit and see if they arrive.

If they vanish into limbo,. you are not sunning on the same fork as Yobit.

In which case, if you are lucky, you are running on the fork that we turned into AXON.

If your withdrawal from Yobit did not arrive, copy your AXIOM data directory into one named to be for AXON, and run AXON using that copy; then re-synch your AXIOM blockchain, whereuoon what you withdrew should appear.

If your withdraw does arrive no problem though, you ARE on the same fork as Yobit, so you are fine, all is well, whether you want to also grab yourself free AXON coins is entirely up to you, you can do so if you have old AXIOM wallets with coins in them by running AXON and giving it your old AXIOM wallets that had coins in them beck before the fork happened.

No idea for AXIOM, as once I set up AXON I cleared the blockchains of all my AXIOM instances and it will take days from them to synch up, if they even do manage to synch up.

For AXON, my nodes all seem to agree they are on block 1122903 right now.

To help support AXON, such as by providing marketmaking on exchanges, I have created an asset on the Horizon network.

I have created an info page about the asset at http://makemoney.knotwork.com/horizon/assets/hzgrow/

AXON is only one of the growth-potential items this HZGROW fund bundles together, see the info page for info.

As to recovering (AXIOM) coins that failed to withdraw from Yobit, you need to get your AXIOM client onto the same blockchain that Yobit is on.

All the mining and staking you have accompliushed since the chain split/forked though will be lost when you switch to Yobit's blackchain, THAT IS WHY we created AXON.

By copying your AXIOM data directory to call it AXON, youj save all the coins you have mined and minted, but save them as AXON. You run AXON using that data.

Then with the old (your existing) copy of the data you can delete everything except the wallet.dat and peers.dat, and run AXIOM. It might take days to get the blockchain but hopefully it will end up getting the same blockchain that Yobit is using, you will know that is the case if the coins you withdrew from Yobit turn up there.

That is what I am waiting for now, in next few days my AXIOM nodes should have gotten the blackchain from scratch and hopefully I will find my withdrawn coins there.

Run Axon, then once you have its blockchain up to date give it your saved backujp AXIOM wallets.

(Stop the daemon, copy a wallet into data directory, fire up coin again, checkwallet, recover wallet if need be, send the coins to an address created in the new empty wallet you got when you inititlly started AXON if you have several AXIOM wallets to process and consolidate or just want to start clean without umpteen megabytes of wallet left from years of staking.

Basically all your saved AXIOM wallet backups also act as old saved AXON wallets, all coins prior to the point where the chains diverged should survive.

Windows users might call a daemon a "service".

I mean the "service" you run that makes the coin go.

Maybe you might have a GUI program you run that has an ability to "do" the coin?

The daemon or service is the running code on your machine that you talk to via your command line or GUI telling it you want to do this that or the other thing about the coin.

Importantly it is also the program that talks to other machines to enable the peer to peer networking to get the blockchain get and send transactions and so on.

Call it "program" instead of "daemon" or "service" if you prefer.

Or call it the coin as in run the coin aka run the daemon that enables the coin aka run the service that makes the coin be up and running on your machine aka start the coin's networking so it communicates with other machines on the network to get and keep up with the blockchain.
