Hello all, I would like some advice.

After being arrogant and not reading the T&C completely I got my account locked until verification due to the use of TOR. I needed my money out fast so I have attempted to verify, I’m currently 8820 in the queue.

My issue is that I currently live with someone so I do not have any utility bills (etc.) under my name. For the proof of identity I have scanned both my driving licence and my passport, for the proof of residency the only option I had was to use my polling card. Now I know that this probably will not be accepted so I was hoping someone could give me some ideas of alternatives that I can upload before my account gets reviewed.

After going through the list on the site I think mobile phone bill might be my only official option. Unfortunately I do not use my phone often and I use pay-as-you-go and top it up whenever I need it. I’m not well informed in this area but would I still be able to get a phone bill? If not could I get a cheap contract within 10 days and still be able to print off a bill?

My passport, driving licence and polling card all have my address on it so I’m not sure if that will be sufficient. My other question is that if I do get declined will I be pushed back to the back of the queue?

Thanks to anyone that can offer some advice, I appreciate it.

Mobile phone should work just fine, thats what I used as I am like you, I live with others and the utilities are not in my name.  They accepted mine last year when I had to do it, along with my drivers license (which had my correct address on it) and havent had a problem since.

This is why MtGox sucks and people should use other exchanges. This whole verification is nuts, I understand it provides increased security for Gox and it's users, but it's not only a big hassle, it's intrusion of privacy AND when your account gets locked, theft.

Thank you!
Can you do this with pay-as-you-go, I don't currently have a contract?
Where would you find the bill, print it off their website?

Well when you are dealing with the amount of money they are, it becomes understandable in a way.  I mean we have all heard stories of people using the exchanges to launder money.  With the prices going up as they are, the governments are going to start looking closer into these.  They are just covering themselves, they stand to lose way more than anyone else.

You still have the options like Bitinstant if you want to avoid the whole thing all together.  If you are willing to take the hit and eat the fees, you get your money fast and wont have to worry about the whole verification process.

I have the same problem, I don't have the utility bills or phone bills under my name.  I sent a copy of my credit card statement, I hope that would be enough.

When my account was unverified, I could withdraw money and btcs, but since I am now in a queue for review, I can't withdraw anything.  That is so stupid, what if they reject the documents, will they lock the funds?

Doubt that will work ^^ there is a reason they want a utility bill, you're not paying someone's $450 mining rig power bill every month, its kind of stuck to the address. Your phone you can have at the address, and not live there.

Though their staff could just be looking and signing off names.

Why not get a notarized signature of the guy whos name is on the bill saying you live there?

Most places are fine with a cell bill as your proof of residency, which is all they are worried about.  That you are proving where you live.  House phones are becoming rarer and rarer and this is the evolution of that.  Basically, why would you get getting a cell phone bill at a place you arent living?  Like I said, thats what I used, and it went through just fine for me.

It's more to do with Banks anti money laundering regulations that Mt Gox require these details.

I'd much rather trust Mt Gox than other exchanges that require no verification (which are breaking AML regulations BTW) and end up with their bank accounts frozen

Its been a nighmare, in my country government issued ID does not have your address published on the document. I uploaded two forms of government issued ID and my Internet bill.

Funny enough they reply asking for a form of ID that has my address printed on it... Anyone see the problem hehe,

Panama may have many advantages but addresses are not one of them, some have reference to "the green house at the after the third road next to the lemon tree"

Luckily mine is in front of a convinience store that is used as a landmark
Blue house in front of convinience store on avenue ...

Well they told me to submit something with that address and I asked if they even took the time to read the submitted internet bill...

Still waiting on a reply
