a fight with mayweather won't prove anything for mcgregor. if that fight pushes through at all, I don't think it would be as competitive as we expect it to be. it probably would be a boxing match and I don't think the skills of connor would be shown in full. might as well defend the belt in the octagon than waste time forcing a match with mayweather

He is out making big money with advertisements and now with boxing about to make more money in a night than all all nights of UFC. It's to be understood that he is doing what he is doing. If he goes on the UFC and has a bad night and loses, his cache will be damaged and he will not be able to demand 75 million for the boxing match and keep racking millions on ads.

It would be stupid from all parts to not reach any sort of agreement. If there is any fight that can be bigger than Canelo vs triple G then that has to be the Mayweater vs McGregor one for sure, so if he wants to stay relevant for a long time he needs to get this done and then an UFC fighter will be part of history forever. UFC is yet to prove its not more than a fad and this would help.

Dude check the news. It's pretty much done at this point. Mayweather lost money recently, a big amount in some bad deal, this fight is perfect timing to get his money count back to where it was before that bad deal. He also wants the perfect 50-0 record.

I doubt Mayweather would bother to put his globes on unless he was going to fight. This is further proof that he is keeping himself active for the potential fight. I think the fight will happen this year, or May 2018 since the Canelo-GGG fight is scheluded for September and Mayweather only fights in May or September.
