I think it was a big hype scam. Poeple got roped into 1 and 2 year mining contracts for that. Talk about a big loser. Not only are you going to lose money but you have to relive it everyday for 2 years.

It wont be legit since zcash devs do really tend to make money and theres no legit features that could able to surpass bitcoin no matter what. I dont know whats the true reason why the hype pumped soo much on which it reaches an increadibly high price from the start but the hype would be only on its launching time but in the long run it definitely dump hard.

In my situation i didnt really intend to put money on zcash from the start no matter how the hype is soo high and everyone claiming that this coins would really have the potential and i was right either and this coins just pump hard and dump hard and same as you said i feel sorry for those who bought on expensive price how much more for those who invest on 100+ btc zcash price.. Bitcon dev will never add that zk-snarks feature anytime anymore because its already used by zcash.  The hype is just a hype, it took so much money from investors in just days. I can't believe a coin with just weeks old will overthrow btc and people really thought it could happen instantly that they bought zcash more than 3btc for 1zcash.

True everybody is searching for the next big thing and don't want to be told thesame story twice and this create sheep mentality among speculators, this is not perculiar to Zcash alone even the ICO projects and overfunding too. A project that require 2000BTC ended up raising 17000BTC

Everybody has a lot of bitcoins stored in their cold wallet and they doesnt know where to invest these coins and when they see an ICO they start investing big in those and so is the reason most of the scammers got rich pretty fast and disappeared with the coins just like that and most of the projects raised more coins than what is needed for them.Zcash will crash and come down to $30 or below pretty soon but i hope Zcash mining is still profitable at this rate.

The tech is legit? It is not legit according to long time bitcoin developer Peter Todd. Zk-Snark is relatively weak and turned out to be "totally broken". That is his own words. There are other issues and concerns with zcash that potential investors here need to know.
