I tried this long while back. It was my friend friend and she wanted to exchange btc, normally I don't like doing it but when it's a girl, and girl I can't even describe I said a yes. I was kind of skeptical but the process was smooth and the reward was satisfying. I feel this method is nicer, it reduces the risk and makes it safe for both parties. I encourage this method.

I have been exchanging my bitcoin through face to face transaction when ever i need any cash. Really i am not selling much bitcoins through face to face because there may be some violation. Once the government know that we are selling bitcoins through face to face definitely they will keep us in jail. Face to face exchange should be always confidential even though we make good money.

If you are worried about government surveillance, then face-to-face transaction may be actually the better option. If you exchange BTC for physical cash, then it is extremely difficult for the tax authorities to track you. On the other hand, if you receive a bank transfer after selling your coins, then it will be very easy for the officials to track you.

At this point not, but I see doing face 2 face transactions as some sort of a last resort option in case it's next to impossible to buy Bitcoin via an exchange.

I only find it not a very safe option as basically anything can happen when you are being tricked by criminals where they end up forcing you to hand over everything.

I also don't like the aspect of having to wait possibly an hour for a transaction to confirm with someone I totally don't know. There are too many cons.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

No I don't. Maybe someday if bitcoin is really popular in my country. For now I think I can excange bitcoin with items through online. In my city I think we are less than 10 who knows bitcoin. And that number I don't know any one of them. For now I'm trying to introduce bitcoin to my friends but no luck. They did not believe me.

I only ever exchange bitcoin with my friend by face to face, but for stranger i never do that, even though there was one time a person want to bought my bitcoin with a little bit higher than usual price, bitcoin is a wild world better to take precaution and i choose to be safe rather than anything happened to me and my bitcoin

in my opinion exchanging bitcoin face to face is for those who are paranoid or live in countries with laws against trading and holding bitcoin. and i am neither.
and on top of that i am not usually "selling" bitcoin because i am in it for long term and the only limited times i sold i did it online to local buyers for local currency.

I definitely disagree that is paranoid to buy/sell bitcoins face to face if you follow some common sense steps and the amount you want to spend is not very high. So I will recount how I bought two times in the past with this way.

1. Using localbitcoins I bought a some coins for a couple of times using the option national bank transfer. So when I paid him I saw his real name as well as he saw mine.
2. Checking his feedback not only with me but with other people I asked him to have a deal f2f because the exchange rate was better than before.
3. We met in a public space where internet connection was without hassle I asked him his id and I gave him the money. After the first confirmation I returned his id and our deal finished.

i didn't see anyone mentioning this so i do it here;
for all of those who are interested in selling bitcoin face to face or have done it already i suggest reading this article story about a guy who was robbed in New York at gun point after he sells bitcoin to a shady person face to face:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-stolen-new-york-gunpoint-robbery/

and this is not the only one you can search for more stories that has happened so far:
https://www.google.com/search?q=bitcoin+seller+robbed+at+gunpoint

so be careful and try doing the trade in a public place or even a police station and if it was possible take someone with you.

Well, I also felt that it would be detrimental. you have to move more power for the same result. I feel that we only get damages if redeem bitcoin face to face with people we do not know. I prefer to exchange it online rather than face to face

Actually i have done several BTC exchange with local guys face to face but as there is also local payment gateway we have here majority of time i buy/sell with them without meeting them personally. But its good to have face to face deal on first deal to build some trust and it was so much fun to meet and have conversion with like minded people which is hard to find in case of bitcoin.

I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

lucky for me, first because my friend is also a bitcoin users. So I sell bitcoin to my friend, he paid with cash. And it is the first time I redeem bitcoin in directly

I didnt know that selling bitcoin by person is a crime .Why is that a crime to do so.Face to face exchange are a bit risky as you never know what the other persons intentions are if you are holding a good number of coins. We do have good exchanges to sell our coins if needed and i would not risk that by meeting an unknown individual.

I have always been on the buying side of the deal and for that I am not too enthusiastic to do it face to face, because when you are buying bitcoin you can buy it online a lot easier than you can do it face to face, and besides trading face to face is a lot of hassle and it is dangerous that is why it is only good for those who want to have the privacy of cash deals.

I've done so a few times but I don't think it really counts as these are just friends I introduce to bitcoin, and I help them open a new wallet and send them a little dust there and then, so they can see it get into the blockchain and get confirmed.

It's a fun experience but I would really like to exchange btc with a stranger in person!

Only to friends and family. I got no interest in meeting a stranger down a dark alley and waving my phone at him or her. That don't sound like the future of money to me.

Yup, I sold my BTC face to face for PKR (cash) in Karachi, city well known for street crimes but my exchange went pretty smooth. In fact, the one to whom I sold my bitcoins has become one of my pals.

Never did that, though i have borrowed small amount of bitcoin from my cousin sometimes as he also uses bitcoin but never exchanged bitcoins to another currency face to face with someone as i have never known anyone around me except my cousin who uses bitcoin.

I have never exchange my bitcoins face to face. But my boyfriend did something close to that. When he just entered in bitcoin world he exchanged his bitcoin through some guy, through the internet and that guy took 10% as the tax.
