Also, I might be wrong, but doesn't segwit tackle blockchain bloat as well as transaction speed? If that is the case, it would still be interesting for litecoin to keep the blockchain size in check.

Segwit is dead upon arrival, the Chinese mining pools are never going to agree to it.

What makes you think that Litecoin will reach 75% easily? In Bitcoin we are struggling to get 30% because people is fucking stupid and they take ages to get with the program and start updating their software, and of course we also have illiterate morons buying the Roger Ver anti segwit propaganda which doesn't help.

It would be cool if Litecoin can bypass all of it being a tiny coin compared to Bitcoin and get segwit going, but im not sure if Litecoin will have sidechains which is a cool feature that will be perfected with segwit.

Definitely Litecoin will have sidechains. The Litecoin community is onboard for segwit and that is why losh11 is suggesting the 75 percent will be easily reached.

Whilst Litecoin and Bitcoin do share some of the big Chinese pools, the Litecoin developers have been in close contact with pools. We have talked and hope that we are able to reach this 75% majority. It is much more likely this will happen on Litecoin earlier than Bitcoin.

Whilst Litecoin and Bitcoin do share some of the big Chinese pools, the Litecoin developers have been in close contact with pools. We have talked and hope that we are able to reach this 75% majority. It is much more likely this will happen on Litecoin earlier than Bitcoin.

This kind of connivance will hurt the decentralization of litecoin. The best way to do it is for the developers to update litecoin and leave the mining pools, the miners, the full node operators and the litecoin community to decide if they want the update or not.

So it would be cool to see how much activation does litecoin have right now. I think it's great that litecoin is going so fast, 75% already? Damn, for Bitcoin is going to take ages at this point, unfortunately... I wish we could have segwit activate as soon as possible. Maybe I buy some LTC just to show some support.

this is a good news for litecoin and also it is a good news for bitcoin too. because SegWit on litecoin means we can see it in action (if it happens) and then see what it can mean for bitcoin so we may come to a conclusion whatever that may be.

and also with bitcoin price declining a bit these days, litecoin is a viable option for a pump of 4x or more so that Chinese can make back all the money they lost these days.
