The only thing that trading can be considered as gambling is just because it has a risk. But both of them is truly hard to have good profit with it even though in gambling you can have fast money but sometimes a gambler is not that contented on the profit that he made, he will just keep on gambling and that's the reason why he is going to lose. While there are some good traders who are making good profit because of their patience.

Trading and gambling is far different. They have same features in common but that's not means that they are the same. Gambling is just a game that gaves entertainment with a involvement of money while is just buting a commodity or currencies for a small price and just sell it for high price just like what happened on a normal market scenario. Market is not a gambling place. And trading occurs in the market, so that means trading is not a gamblling.

People just have different perspective/views that's why some consider it is gambling. This thread is never ending story obviously.

I consider trading as a professional activity. It requires analysis, research and others knowledges. Gambling you just require luck. But yes, maybe there is a thin line between then. It depends on how you do trading.

yes that is a face, trading is really a professional activity while gambling can not be consider as professional activity, because gambling is banned in so many countries and is consider as illegal activity in so many religions.

In fact I never heard from some that his profession is gambling, gambling is a short cut activity for making money but the risk factor is always there, because it totally depending on your luck and your experience and your skill cannot help you too much in gambling for considering as a profession by giving consistent income generating opportunities.

For me i would not consider that trading is gambling and as we review most trading sites is literally talking about trading not gambling right? But if we look closely its more like gambling because your investments involves risk at all and without proper knowledge in trading or in sports betting in gambling you may lose what you have invested.

Do a research about trading and gambling come on it is not hard!  Google search is just a tab away.  Don't rely on anything the member of this forum just said. In a way yes, if we are going to compare gambling and trading, we can considered Trading as gambling because the risk that we are taking in Trading is almost the same that we are taking in gambling, but not as big like the risk in gambling. In Trading the only problem that we are thinking of is being scam by someone while in gambling the only problem that we are thinking of is losing and the strategy that we are going to use, for us to win.

I think the only reason for which we can consider bitcoin as gambling is the risk factor, as both are risky and you can lose money even in trading, but in other point of view gambling is not like trading as trading need your skill your  previous experience and skill while gambling is not bothering these.

Depending on luck always is not a good thing because there are experts has been saying that in everything you do, you need to have only 10% luck and the rest are hard work and knowledge. It is near to be the same just like what have said when it comes to risk. And since trading is also a type of investment most of the people when dealing with investments are gambling their money. So for me, both gambling and trading is good to consider as almost the same type of activity even though yeah we do have our different point of views regarding this.

When the risk is big, you can call it that you are just gambling. Altcoins investment is riskier compared to bitcoin but if you are just doing day trading you can easily minimize the risk, that can be done when you are active regularly to pay attention what's going on to the market especially keeping yourselves abreast with the recent news.

well yeah but you can also see what is happening in the market too. they can not hide everything. you can look at the orderbooks and see their orders and how they spread or put up walls to do different things, you can also check the history to see how much was sold and bought, you can also look at the charts and all the activity of those "insider people" you are talking about is clearly visible on these tools i just mentioned.

House edge and inside people are almost similar things across gambling and trading. Honestly we will never able to overcome these two. Other than this, there are lot of factors could be found commonly in these two is difference fields, among them one must be risk levels.

Risking money is not always gambling ,it is on my mindset because for me in gambling in which you will play a game to win or to have fun but in trading is too big different from it which is not fast lose and as fast as gambling winnings so consideration of trading as gambling is on our mindset only =)
