Monero have way more chances to reach $200 in 3 years then Bitcoin $15000.  I see Bitcoin at max 6-8k in 3 years. When for Monero is way harder to predict. If development will go as last 2 years $200 is sure thing. If development start getting disorganised as it was first year then way harder.

In my opinion monero will not be accepted as a store of value the way bitcoin is. The reason is that the opaque blockchain cannot be audited or verified. Perhaps it will continue to do well as niche currency for dark market transactions

The biggest attraction on Monero is the privacy aspect, but is this what could possibly hold it back from being accepted in a more mainstream way?
The powers that be don't like not having control over the cryptocurrency world and Monero takes that to a new level. the last year has seen some great rises in the value of Monero and for the moment i only see this continuing.

Monero is also a first of its kind: anon, pretty fair launch, and still constantly developed. It has to have a bright future.
There are quite a number of other anon coins (aeon, bbr, ...) which for some reason don't grow as good as Monero, or at least not yet. So the privacy aspect alone is not enough.

Actually it is possible for monero to reach very high price. It had a really good hype in the starting of the year but the price is now fluctuating between 18-24$. Maybe we should just hold our coins and wait for the big whales to pump the coin like how they did with dash , or in general just wait for it grow normally

Monero price has not risen recently. Any reason for that?

Bitcoin makes x4 for 1 year, Monero makes x6. As we can choose between them as oldest coins, i suggest Monero to grow up faster than BTC in procents.

Monero is a useful coin and has real life usage so I think it is going to keep growing I don't think we are going to see that price in 2018 I think the sooner we are going to see that price is 2020 but it does not matter monero is a great coin to hold or to use.

Monero is a useful coin and has real life usage so I think it is going to keep growing I don't think we are going to see that price in 2018 I think the sooner we are going to see that price is 2020 but it does not matter monero is a great coin to hold or to use.

Well, Monero is an altcoin for using in Underworld and Business, I think very difficult to up price an altcoin stable, useful and popular as Monero. The price $200+ maybe hit in future but it can't do that before 2018, I can sure it 100%

Don't know how high it will go but until such time that a user-friendly wallet comes out where you don't need to download the whole blockchain and can EASILY be used in mobile phones - the price of Monery will not move that high.
To people above who wonder what's holding it back from being used - the answer is it's non-friendly wallet.

Just google around and you will find people taking days - weeks just trying to synchronize the wallet. Sometimes it will get stuck and you need the commandline to pop some blocks out to continue.
It also has no hardware wallet for now (may change later). No IOS(Apple) Wallet. There's supposed to be an Android wallet but I think you need to sign-up somewhere to get it with your email - in which case what's the point of using an anonymous currency.

Great coin and great tech, but the dev teams stated belief that they are against playing along with the speculative market, that they can ignore the marketing side of things and the lack of focus on making it easier to use with a lite client, mobile wallet etc will hurt the project greatly I believe.

Clearly the better coin, but I think they seriously underestimate how much Zcash and many other alternatives in the anon space are "good enough" for most users, let alone the more casual crypto user.

Monero vallet synchronize way faster then my Bitcoin or Ethereum vallet. I had zero problems doing so.  So please also google also those. There are people with old computers or low network speed and will always have problems.

Yes when Ledger will add Monero it will be a nice Monero hardware wallet. But paper wallet is still way safer place to store your long term holding Moneroj.

On mobiles you will be able to use GUI. No need for any special ones. You will be able even to mine with it

Monero is a good coin, the price will surpass $200 sometime in the future, when? I cannot tell you.
