Fact: Only the Satoshie group themselves know how many members strong they are. Any number must be assumed.
Fact: Only the Satoshie cartel know how many bitcoins they have pre-mined before going public. Any number must be assumed.
Fact: Only the Satoshie entity knows the combined hashing power they have. Any number must be assumed.
Fact: The Satoshies did have control of more then 50% of total bitcoins on day one, and millions of coins before going public. You have to be very naive to belief that they surrendered power since then knowing full well what power they process. On one hand smart enough to write this extremely technical software and at the same time dumb enough to voluntary giving up this enormous power. Yeh right. The lone hacker locked away in his cupboard size room and create this software for the good of mankind. Yeh good story.
I challenge anyone to prove wrong any of this facts beyond reasonable doubt.
Spending 10 000 bitcoins on a pizza or 14 000 bitcoins on hard assets (like recently) is just small pocket change if you have millions at your disposal.

Fact: You dont need bitcoins to get gold, silver, copper, you do need gold, silver, copper to make bitcoins. Good luck creating a     bitcoin with an abacus. Understanding this makes any comparison of precious metals and bitcoins null and void.
I can live a very comfortable life without bitcoin it would be far less comfortable without precious metals (copper for any electric motor, silver for surgical instruments and industry, gold for contact plating on circuit boards on you gas-boiler, phone.....)

Fact: I do need electric for a bitcoin. (don't need electric to pay with cash, any tool, silver, toilet paper........)

Fact: Any transaction ever sent, will be forever traceable.

Fact: Any dip in price, hoarders will add to there stack.

Fact: I own some bitcoins

Fact: Crypto currencies will prevail. One which is full of crippling flaws will fail in the long.

Sure you just need to solve the distribution problem. Why not start an improvement that works like this:
