Yes, I guess and it may reach over $1,000 within few days.
The bitcoin price is very very near $1000 and the last time when bitcoin price was ~1000 was more than 3 years before I just checked the graphs and the current price is just perfect comparing with the past recent years. This is a very appropriate time to speculate. the current price of bitcoin is so extraordinarily high. improvement happens very fast and positive impact for users bitcoin. 1000USD just waiting for a matter of hours alone in my opinion. If you are very optimist that this can happen in the next hours then it may happen if the Chinese people (which are woken up now) start buying. But it is the new year eve and here in U.S the new year hasn't come yet so I don't think there will be a small pump today/tomorrow. first of all let me say that it is not going to happen because we have entered accumulation mode and prices won't go up much in this stage. but also, let me tell you that these holidays have no effect because for one as you said it is not holiday in the rest of the world and even if it was, the big trades who change the market have lots of bots and maket watchers that will kick in as soon as there was a change so they can act on it which means they are not out of the market yet. |

You have some valid points there but lets not take out the big possibilities that bitcoin would reach for that price since the bitcoins price still surging at this very point so 1000$ price is achievable, just try to look at the current price for now the price situation is little bit reachable for now so, the target price possibly be reached if good times will come but we don't truly know when this time to be happen. |

i don't think in the new year the price will be reach $1000, but if for 2017 then i am sure that the price will reach what we want because the new year is only two days left and the price now is getting down into $951 for now and i am not sure with this but if there are any big players that want to pump the price, then it could be happen in this two days.
It did reach just this morning. It is only off by $5 now and that ground is not very hard to cover the way it has been touching and reaching all expectation from the new year already. |

There were many people thinking that the price would plummet after the end of last year. But I saw no reason why. Bitcoin has reached a much larger number of users, and there is an ecosystem that gives people options to use it. In fact things need to improve, but it's a relatively new ecosystem, I think it's just a matter of time until we see more commercial establishments accepting it.

It has already reached 1010 on Okcoin, and 1006.5 on bitfinex. The Chinese seem to be leading the charge which is bullish since they control most of the volume.

I think OP should change title to: The price is $1000 now, Will it hit $1,500?
When grexit & others events happen, not only will be the chinese buying btc due to yuan weaking & china's capital control but also the europeans will join the bull trend.

Still have time but looks like we're heading toward the mid 800s now.
look it rising again a bit, the market it's fiding its position, there will not be a dump now what i believe is that you need a price correction after this good rally, i take this opportunity to accumulate more bitcoin with trading, see you at the next pump If the price keeps above $920, that is a good double of the 2015 price. you mean 2016? we are above 1000 now, and we have a good double, we can go much higher though, i think 2k is not unlikely anymore |
