We are working super hard to get knowledgeable guys to deploy the smart contract on a testnet, audit it, and test claiming AE tokens.

Once this is successfully done, I will prepare guides on how to claim.

We are fighting hard to meet the deadline and doing so many other development/organizational things.

Very good to know but we have to wait for the final distribution it will happen by the end of the month or it will take some more time.But at the same time company is concentrating on listing in the exchanges, that is another sign because after getting their token people will keep asking for exchanges.

By the way nice updates for today though aren't fix but show that things are moving ahead in spite of difficulties. I like two things from all first still fighting to make possible distribution in time and second where exchanges are mentioned though not concrete but is good like this too.

BUT for sake of confusion - it might be better.

However, even if you decide that "AE" is your choice - that does not stop someone else or some exchange from applying those letters to another platform.

We are testing heavily and do not want to rush stuff. We currently have some issues with BTC and the smart contract, but working hard to get those settled.

If anyone here has contributed with BTC, please send a mail to info@aeternity.com. We may need you help with testing.

Regarding the ERC20 and token distribution -> We have deployed the smart contract on the Ethereum testnet so that we can test the process of claiming AE by users who have contributed. We have not deployed it on the aeternity testnet (that would not make sense).

Once mainnet launches, you will be able to "burn" your ERC20 tokens and get the same amount of actual AE cryptocurrency.

I think the process is taking too long as we expected. what are doing all these days because now you are deploying the AE token into a smart contract? I think distribution will take another week may be with the concerns you have right now.

Not all contracts work flawlessly, depends on compiler and how its deployed. Code could be dull or even malicious and still work, etherscan sometimes throws out a warning for contracts in question telling that a caution is required when dealing with such contracts because not all pieces of the code were put together as intended.

Let me update you!

We have just created a dedicated Twitter profile for æternity's software engineering updates. It will be managed by the CTO -> Joel Reymont.

Our community testers went through the distribution smart contract and as far as I know, the BTC bug has been fixed. People who have contributed BTC will have to use a tool in order to convert their BTC info into ETH address (and private key), on which they will receive the AE.

I will start working on guides on how to claim the AE.

We are moving forward with heavy smart contract testing. We will be deploying the smart contract on the Ethereum testnet a number of times in order to make sure everything works perfectly.

Also, I can confirm that you will be able to see the AE token at MEW (tests). More tests are coming.

I'm not that excited about the tokens being released. Those are awaiting their new owner safely and comfortably. I can't wait however to see this jumbo jet of a project taking off! Great things ahead!

See many people are waiting for the token distribution because it took quite long for distribution. Once it is distributed than the other developments will follow according to it because many people have a lot of expectation on this AE.

In for the LONG HAUL - Cant wait to watch the JET fly overhead!!!
