2014 started with ~$1000 bitcoin price. It was the worst performing year for bitcoin. Moreover, as the price approaches ATH, watch out some exchanges to be hacked.

This is good news that the price was touch in $1,000 but i hope that it can be increase more above $1k value since we are already touch in $1005 just found from bitcoinwisdom with bitfinex highest price.. and i think the price pump still not done and i think the price will be pump more soon..
So keep your bitcoins and don't panic to sell just to support the price increased..

This is a huge psychological point with Bitcoin.  I know it has been higher than this but this time there will be a lot more press and interest surrounding it.  Will be curious to see if it holds at this point, I was thinking there would be a lot of sell orders at the 1k mark but maybe not.  Happy New Year Bitcoin holders and believers!

Wonderful. Bitcoin will make new highs soon, and it is in a long term upward trend. With more and more people get into it, it will soon hit $2000, hopefully some where in 2017.

We're not experience that the price hit $1,000 from 2016 but this 2017 we are now touch with $1k and i think more price coming possible price can be touch soon was $1,100 the next goal if the price will stay long in $1,000..
And i think many people are still business and they are not seen the price of bitcoin right now so soon we will see large pump for bitcoin..

I think it was right around $1300 last time, but there is a major difference between last time and this time. Last time it was new. It was hyped up on media. It shot up like a rocket, only leaving room for it to then crash.

Now on the other hand, it has proven itself. For over two years it's slowly crawled back up, proving itself even under a bad reputation. This is what sets apart this time from last time. This time, all it needs to do is keep slowly and healthily growing, and who knows where it will stop.

On Yobit it's playing around $970 to $980 but I'm glad that it's still going from $1000 mark who knows it touches and permanently stays on that mark this 2017,I have high hopes that 2017 is another great year for Bitcoin

What a sense of humor you've got, are you seriously taking yobit's price as a base reference for bitcoin price? yobit is just a penny market to trade small amounts and for example if you see $980 in there if you try to buy 2 bitcoins you'll end up paying more than $1000 for second coin .
You could use an exchange as a reference for price where actually people are able to buy or sell more than 20 bitcoins in a single trade with a fixed price.

Well the last time mtgox has a part in falsely raising its value to a unstable point.
Then it shut down and pop go's the weasel.

Great News to see it at 4 digits  Now the question would be, will it hold to $1000 or near that, or would it correct itself down to sub $950.  I really hope it go up higher than $1000, I am sure some people from 2013 are somehow very pleased with this news because it is just a matter of time before they can say, they are in a +ve run with Bitcoin.
