Wall of Coins integration means that Dash has a pretty large OTC market to tap into now, leading to more liquidity and more usability.
Sentinel Update v12.1 demonstrate that Dash successfully mastered the art of hard forking in a controlled manner.
Integration with Blockpay gets Dash into a large market of Point of Sales related activities.
Roger Ver actively promoting Dash is a sign for large Bitcoin whales to really start thinking about diversifying their holdings.

How many of the transactions are being used for something different than just speculation, trading other coins and accumulation through your "masternodes".

Dash is just a set of poker chips for scumbag rich guys like Otoh, Misconduct Wine Co, and Evan the Instaminer to play with.

Price is driven up only by pure speculation. As history shows, after a huge pump always comes a huge dump. The same is with BTC, IMO.
I do not see any serious reasons why the price of Dash have just skyrocketed.

Basically, a ton of digital trash caught on fire and everyone had a cow.

It turns out that Rogver Ver aka Shitcoin Jesus lit the digital trash on fire as a way to take attention away from Bitcoin's All Time High.

It didn't really work any better than his previous attempts to spam the mempool, initiate contentious hard forks, endorse MtGox, etc.

Merchants adoption of Dash will dramatically increase after Dash Evolution, which will bring a decentralized application programming interface
(first of its kind in the cryptoscene). Also there is a budget proposal that just got funded, which will integrate Dash with BlockCypher
(A third party API hot wallet service), this should also enable Dash to board more merchants (large merchants) in the short term.
