At least we are seeing some positive reporting for a while now, because most reporting has been backed by fiat shilling. I guess there are not a lot

of bad things to say about a dual purpose technology that can perform this good. Bitcoin has been the best performing currency and commodity in

it's class. What more do we have to do to gain acceptance?

Interesting rise, definitely, but when I red the Market Watch article, I saw there is a link leading to this article. I do not think that this is a good idea to lure people with such crazy numbers. This article has no self-criticism and for a quick read like I did, the high probability of a dump is not well placed, if even placed.

1000$ is quite like a magical number. As per exemple, here, this is more or less the minimal monthly wage, so 1000$ as a true meaning here, as it means that one month of work for most of the population is worth 1BTC.

Before they are treaten bitcoin is scam or use only for illegal activities. now i think they are regretting because the price for bitcoin was hit $1k value from 3 years ago.. and now more people are knows about bitcoin that can attract more people to use bitcoin that is why the price right now are still staying at $1k value because of news outside..

It does because people become excited and aware of it.  Then when put in News, there will be information spreads.
It catches New Investors.  That is the purpose of it.  Especially if news reports are written in a positive way, building trust to the subject being reported.  News is no different than advertisement if used correctly .

add on:  People are always concern on their gains  If they don't have gains they will ignore it.  If they have huge gain, they will cherish it LOL.

Price flat last 24 hrs, but the overall and long term trend is certainly up. I hope bitcoin will reach $2000 in the year 2017. With price rising, more and more people join the party, pushing price even higher.

I think it's almost definite we'll see that price in 2017.
I'd even go as far to say that I think that that estimate is quite a low one considering the current trend of Bitcoin. (I recently saw it incese by more than $100 in a month last year).

I am not surprised by the interest of news greedy organizations. They are covering bitcoin just because bitcoin reached $1K mark and they have nothing to do with the revolution in the payment technology. I am sorry if I am offending someone but I don’t care about what media thinks about bitcoin because I know the core potential of bitcoin and it won’t affect even if bitcoin falls below $500 tomorrow morning because I believe in the values rather than price.

You are totally right!!! We need to know potential of bitcoin, we need to be aware how much bitcoin can do, we don't need this news that pay attention on bitcoin just when something big happen.
But we can not negligent influence of modern medias on ordinary man. This is good commercial for bitcoin, if half of the people who see this come here and read what bitcoin really is, and how bitcoin can change economy we know its a success.

Yes influential capacity media is strong but not as much as the influential capacity of our friends or relatives. I might not agree with the opinions of media but if a friend of mine is telling me something then I will at least pay attention to him.
In the same way, it’s our prime responsibility to bring awareness about crypto technology around us on individual level. Your friend will trust you more than media news (of course  with some exceptions) so we should keep explaining to our friends and relatives about bitcoin and that’s how we can build a strong userbase worldwide.

I was never more optimistic about the future of bitcoin more then now personally. I do know that there still some issues that needs solutions but I guess we will eventually get there. Your thoughts ?

The btc price is geting closer to the 2013 peak and that`s why bitcoin is again in the news.

Just a few days ago there was a topic how the media do not write too much about BTC,it seems that they are waiting for price reach 1000$ and now it is super interesting for them to make such stories.I'm not saying that it does not help,but when BTC has a hard time then the media write mostly negative news,like that his purpose is for money laundering and terrorist financing.

If you notice it, all blog/news media only talks about bitcoin price, but never talk about bitcoin as currency and it's potential. It's not bad thing, but it would be better to see people use bitcoin as currency rather than as investment (and they will dump it when bitcoin price risr even more).

Even if big media and blogs do not talk about Bitcoin benefits still people are getting to know about Bitcoin, specially a newbie when he hear that Bitcoin price is growing he will think what is this Bitcoin which has such high value than he will search about Bitcoin and it's benefit so bottom line is Bitcoin is getting publicity due to it's price and that is important for all of us Bitcoin users.

This was bound to happen, it's about time that bitcoin gets the due recognition. Bitcoin price has just been rising and rising. Most of the currencies has flattened out, and are looking at Low long term. Btc is providing stability and assurances to people that people need. The world is waking up to the power of btc, so it's about time that they get published, it's only a matter of time that governments to start speaking on it.
