The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Excellent article!  Exactly how Bitcoin applies to people and future societies; not the economics of it, but the actual, living aspects which will shape our lives.

Sent it to my brother, and probably will send it to everyone else I know; would sure save me a half hour of trying to explain it.
