Hello community!

One of the problems we have in the faucet industry is bots, or more specifically fraudulent activity which causes faucet owners to lose their money quicker than they should. This is usually done by the same person claiming more from the same faucet using various methods. It's one of the biggest challenges for faucet owners (and the whole world) to identify individual users with only a bitcoin address and ip address. Without using any personal information there is no way to pin point a fraudulent user before they do it. Even with personal information, this does not stop them from committing the activity.

Services exist like nastyhosts and getipintel to detect "bad IPs" and can be used to protect faucets, however this system tends to report more false positives when legitimate users (especially in the bitcoin industry) choose to use a VPN or proxy for their everyday activities. While it's mostly true that if someone is going to perform abusive activities they tend to hide their IP, this is not a 100% sure fire method to catch people.

The beginning of FaucetHub's Anti-Fraud system
As you know, when I announced FaucetHUB on the forums, I also announced a "anti-bot" feature would be developed for it.

FaucetHub launched on December 1st, 2016.
Since then our database collected a lot of IPs, addresses & e-mails from users who use faucets on our network. Most importantly we collected a lot of fraudulent activity as well.

For all Faucet Owners who have chosen to use FaucetHub as their wallet, you may have already noticed the statistics we provide in the Faucet Manager. Along with the basics we have a unique feature to group payouts by user. This tab shows the total paid to each individual user, and how many of their addresses on their FH account they used on your faucet. This allows faucet owners to spot multi-address abuse and ban the associated IPs and coin addresses from their sites. This kind of information can only be provided by FaucetHub's reports.

From now on this "anti-bot" feature will be called "anti-fraud", and this was only the start.

What exactly do we consider to be fraudulent activity?
We consider fraud to be any kind of activity which harms faucet owners. Any activity which a faucet owner would not approve of a user doing on their site:

Referral abuse
Self-referring yourself on faucets with multiple addresses to boost your gains. This one is the easiest types of fraud for any user to perform, and equally the hardest to detect by any faucet owner. This is considered to be FRAUD by FaucetHub.

Multi-address abuse
Using multiple addresses which are added to your FaucetHub account, and then claiming on the same faucet to get more than you should and bypass any limits they set on their faucets. With or without using scripts or multiple IPs this is considered to be FRAUD by FaucetHub.

Multi-accounts abuse
Creating multiple accounts on FaucetHub and claiming from the same faucets 1-2 times on each, then moving on to another account to do the same thing. This is another form of Multi-address abuse and is much harder to detect. It's considered to be FRAUD by FaucetHub and when detected will result in the same penalties.

These are 3 of the most common types of faucet fraud which end up bleeding faucet owners dry of all their funds, and most of the time they have no idea.

Thanks to the Anti-Fraud "group by user" statistics that I mentioned earlier you can see users who are doing Multi-address abuse and act upon their accounts on your site. But let's face the facts; you don't want to worry about botters and fraudsters every day. You don't want babysit your faucet forever. So we came up with a solution to help protect faucet owners balances.

FaucetHub Transparent Anti-Fraud System
The system is designed to directly combat fraud committed by users on faucet's using our platform, and recover stolen funds and send them back to the faucet owners. We do not profit in any way from this system, the funds are refunded 100% to where they belong, providing they were not already withdrawn. We chose the name "transparent" because we do all the work on the FaucetHub side regardless of your faucet script or website. To benefit from this system no additional code is needed on your site.

The system has been rolled out slowly and is live since last night. It caught 50-60 users so far, some of which have committed some very large offences.

An important message to users who were/will get caught
Some users who were caught "didn't know" that abusing a site via any of the above mentioned fraud methods is "wrong".
Those users also don't think that FaucetHUB should be the one stopping them from taking away their coins.
We want to make sure everyone understands, FaucetHUB runs faucets as well, so we will be active and make sure no faucet owner from our network loses 1 single satoshi to people who think they can simply abuse our sites. "I didn't think it was wrong" is not an excuse. If you gain more than you should, think twice about what you were doing. Users who were doing this have had their accounts frozen and will not be paid. This stands for all users who were caught last night and all who get caught from this point onwards.

The "Fraud Report" in more detail
Users who get caught will be "frozen". This blocks any of their addresses from receiving a payout and they are not able to make any claims using them. When they access FaucetHub they will see a message. At the bottom of that page is the Fraud Report. Here's an example from 1 user who thinks he did nothing wrong and should be allowed to continue using FaucetHUB:

- Caught doing fraudulent activities 34 times, last checked Just now.
- They have 51 coin addresses linked to their account of which 25 were used to make 352 faucet claims.
- Found doing multiple address claims on 1 faucets using 23 coin addresses.
- Found doing referral address fraud on 4 faucets a total of 15 times.
- Has been linked to 103 other accounts via IP address at least once (IPs won't be displayed here)

We show all the relevant numbers to users who got frozen.

What FaucetHUB is providing you is an end to your loss of coins which a minority abuses. This minority most of the time is able to claim/"earn" more than 100 normal users would do in a day.

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them through SUPPORT ON SITE/CHAT ON SITE.
This forum or any other forum is considered as a marketing TOOL to PROMOTE projects. All of us faucet owners post our projects on many forums and we're not able to babysit forums for individual posts. You have 99.99% bigger chance to get a reply in 5 minutes to e-mails than on any forum.

Thanks for your attention, Merry Christmas, New Year, etc.

Great news for faucet owners, bots destroyed many good faucets, i hope you will kick all abusers! And speaking about bots, does it mean that faucets owners can put less antibots and captchas and make things easier for their users? It seems that faucethub is safest micro wallet!

- Has been linked to 103 other accounts via IP address at least once (IPs won't be displayed here)

Shame on him! What about users with dynamic IP?

No need to worry about dynamic IPs. There's a lot of logical factors which determine if a user is abusing faucets or not.

Regarding less/more anti-bot protection, I'd advise users keep their own protections on. You never know if someone will manage to think of a new way to cheat.
FH just collects in-house data and checks it to see if there's connections between addresses/IPs/accounts internally.
This means that only FH faucet owners will be protected. It's a network protection. There's no script which users will have to add/install on their servers

dynamic Ips is not actual problem but when a user creates hundreds of address to abuse faucet websites than it is wrong. Op mentioned this thing that  if a user who has linked hundreds of Bitcoin address to his account and if he use those accounts to abuse faucets using multiple ips or changing ip using any proxy than it is a fraud. This is grate feature by faucethub after this security I will crate another faucet website. I hope faucethub user base will grow after this news.

I got frozen despite the fact that I only used autofaucets made by faucet owners on their own sites themselves. I had exactly 9 of those opened when the "your account has beed frozen" message came. 1 of the faucets wasn't even active (ran out of free claims) when the message arrived!

All of the autofaucets claimed in an interval of 20sec-5min.
Out of 8 autofaucets there was only 1 that claimed each 20 sec and 1 in one minute. Everything else claimed in 2+minutes => in no way, shape or form could i have achieved the forbidden 120 claims/1min, 1000 claims/10min or 4000 claims/1h.
I had exactly 1 wallet for each claimed coin and 1 account ever registered on the site
Some of the autofaucets required rechecking and captcha solving which I of course did. Got a lot of spam ads too and had to "fight my way through" to get the autofaucets constantly running (and yes i'm very very sure the owners made profit out of me!).

I left my notebook on over last night since I was claiming a rare coin. All of the faucets were disabled when I woke up (ran out of autoclaims, got error messages (probably because my internet rebooted) etc...). Neither did I have that many autofaucets at that time at all! I found them all today and set them up during the day!

The message I got from FaucetHub is this:
"Fraud Report
Have you broken any rules?
You have a Fraud Score of 10.1
You have been caught doing fraudulent activities 1 times.

We have zero-tolerence for botting on any of our partner's sites."

Botting?! Fraud score?!!
You guys srsly have to work on that one!
Also why don't you warn users first per PM if they commit something "not allowed"?

If I'd receive an auto message from support that my "fraud score" (of which I had no idea existed since i'm a bloody noob!) increased to 0,1 I would have at least looked it up and asked in forums of what I was doing wrong. Just freezing my account right away in that situation is really BAD behavior!

It seems like the problem was not in my doings but in autofaucet owners who do not register their faucets into auto-faucet-status on FH. Thus the system thinks I was claiming to much.
I had no IP changes. My IP stayed the same the whole time.

@mex: I found out that user named "kambas" had the exact same issue as myself on April 04, 2018 and it was solved on the same day. If you want I can provide you with autofaucet links in order to find out which one was not labeled as "autofaucet" in FH system so it thought I was a bot.
Let's work on that problem together and think about how to prevent such things in future!

Frozen accounts that are suspected of fraud activities will have their balances returned to faucet owners. That's what I mean with my post. Cheesy

AMEN!
My support ticket was answered but obviously not even closely researched of what's going on. Here the mail:
"You spent 33+ hours claiming from faucets with your longest break of 2 hours and 49 minutes. The "blackfalldoge" faucet doesn't appear to be an auto-claim faucet nor is it listed in the "Mining/Auto" tab on the faucets page. As stated in the Terms & Conditions, suspicious activity such as excessive claiming is viewed as malicious intent and can get your account frozen.

If you feel this was due to auto-claims from auto-faucets, then you need to make sure the faucets are listed under the "Mining/Auto" tab on the faucets page. Read here for more information about this issue: https://faucethub.io/news/post/91

You can wait to see if your fraud score lowers enough for the system to automatically unfreeze your account, but there are no guarantees if or when that will happen. We don't manually unfreeze accounts having a fraud score."

The problem lays in that https://blackfalldoge.com/miner/ HAS A MINER/AUTOFAUCET! And that it REQUIRES a FH linked wallet in order to work:
Quote
(This faucet requires your address to be linked to a FaucetHUB account)

Let's recap for a sec:
-I visit a faucet which is linked to FH
-I use the faucet, solving captchas watching ads and gaining my tiny profits
-The author of the site made a mistake by not putting the autofaucet into FH autofaucet-list
-FH get's the info that i'm claiming to much and to long
-FH blocks me without ANY warning whatsoever. In order to use FH service I have to register a new account, find and link new wallets... do a shitton of work in order to get it running once again
-I send a support ticket and get answered in more than 48 hours (is that "shortly" for FH?)
-FH is so good at this that "We don't manually unfreeze accounts having a fraud score" means as a user you're ALWAYS in the wrong no matter who f***ed up. Also FH doesn't even care nor want it to know anything from anyone. No justice, no respect - just a simple "f**k you user"
-I most probably lost my week long, pain in the ass, hard worked on earnings (ridiculous 0,50$) and that crypto is SENT BACK TO THE FAUCET OWNERS from which I honestly claimed and who MADE MONEY OUT OF ME ALREADY!

...It's just ridiculous! Unfair! Dishonest!
Why not charge Blackfalldoge instead to return my earnings and to prevent such sites from making the same mistake?! WHY AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHERS MISTAKES?!

AMEN!

Hallelujah.

We are getting at least 300 similar cases per week, and 98% of those cases are fraudulent, so that's the main reason why we don't look into frozen accounts individually.

We are expecting faucet owners read the documentation and respect our sites' rules, when creating a simple faucet, or a auto faucet and add them under the correct group, so their users (AKA you) don't get frozen.
Auto faucets have created us a lot of problems in the past, and they still do, and they cost us more money than the normal type of a faucet, due to their fast data processing and database data storing.

You are responsible because you supposedly have read our ToS and accepted them when you joined the site in the first place.

Now. It's summer. I am the main admin of FH and I'm the only one who's got access to the database. This means no one else can help you in your case, if I am not around. Since it's summer, I've been on vacation for a while and I wasn't aware of this situation.

You could've just asked to get in contact with me, before you went this far.

PM me your email on FH and I'll refund your $0.50.

Hi there...
Two days ago the same happends to me... my account was frozen cause one uato-clamining site that i thought was completely normal and linked to FH didn't fullfilled all requirements... I was stupid to don't check it in the FH list, but until now I didn't knew about the existence of this "authorized sites". I'm so sorry for it... maybe i lose the hard clicking of around 2 months, even the benefits were just $7. I submited the ticket and a FH assistant told me that the account maybe is lost forever or maybe if my fraud score 10.1 went down with the time I will able to recover the account. So, now I wonder what can I do to decrease this score...... If anyne knows it please write me down, I'll apreciate it. The page that create this situation was tgainers.info i write it here for others knowledge. In this page you can read:

   - Welcome to TGainers Faucet, here you can earn all cryptocurrencies that listed in faucethub. It's a multi-coin faucet, On our website, you can earn cryptocurrencies manually and automatically.

   - Tgainers Faucet - Level UP

You have to select the currency and insert your wallet address to earn free cryptocurrency automatically. TGainers.info is the fastest website, to up your level.

Note : After start claiming, you need to keep open the web page to receive coins. If you close our web page, this faucet will stop sending you free coins. This faucet requires your crypto wallet address that linked to your FaucetHUB account.

And these words confuse me a bit.  Please I don't know how to do it to recover my FH account. I really liked it. I'm so sorry for my mistake and if you decide to reestablish the account I promise to be more careful. I learned the lesson.

Thanks in adavance.

Can you please forward this to the owner of that website and tell him move his faucet under "auto faucets" section, so this doesn't happen?
This isn't something we can do, since we don't want to edit people's settings.

After you get a reply, please PM me here and I'll unfreeze your account.

Sorry about this, but we have some strict rules, and some faucet owners don't even bother to go through them and check them.

I have a problem with my faucethub account.
I tried to contact support but without any success. Faucethub keep continuing to sent me to the page "Account frozen" when I click "Click here to open a Support Ticket" Shocked.
So, I have to ask support here.

I login today after a long time on my account and the system told me that my account has been frozen for inactivity. My fraud score is 0.
What Have I to do for reactivate my account?

Thank you!!
