Bitcoin is not the currency of the future

We need to stop listening to self-proclaimed experts and hack economists who say

Bitcoin will change the world

The Bitcoin experiment has finally been resolved. Everybody was wrong:

Bitcoin is dead.

Mike Hearn said ‘farewell to Bitcoin’ and took a job with Goldman Sachs because he thought

‘Bitcoin is just an experiment.’

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire says nobody will be using Bitcoin in 5 years because

It’s still early days. Something better will come along and replace it.

People were wrong when they said

Bitcoin will bring reliable self-banking to the unbanked in third world countries.

Smart people understand that

Bitcoin challenges central banking and undermines the ability of governments to keep financial tabs on their citizens.

In order to fight terrorism, the government tracks everything you do online.

Personally, I’m tired of living in a world where

Hackers, drug dealers and terrorists can use Bitcoin to get away with their crimes.

It’s actually just a myth that

Bitcoin is good for the world.

That’s dead wrong.

You aren’t smart enough to use Bitcoin; it will never be adopted by the masses.

Economists like Paul Krugman keep saying

Bitcoin is evil.

I don’t believe that

Bitcoin can make the world a better place by empowering people.

All you can do with Bitcoin is buy drugs. And maybe a hitman.

It just isn’t true that

Bitcoin can be used for good as well as bad.

It is true that Bitcoin is riddled with scams and crooks. Mt. Gox blew up, Ross Ulbricht went down. Hardly a day goes by without somebody getting hacked or handcuffed. We all know

Bitcoin was born in sin.

Charlie Stross wants Bitcoin to die in a fire. He says

Bitcoin is evil.

I’m tired of hearing that

Bitcoin is actually close to mass adoption.

The price of Bitcoin today is nearing an all-time high, but the Economist Magazine says it’s just a bubble – Like tulip mania. The smart money says

I do not think like this. Bitcoin will still be a digital currency in the future but it will have many legal rules to control and now bitcoin has got many big communities behind it. It's not easy to be dead.

But wasn't this the very same rhetoric when it first came into being?
The nay sayers and the ones that said it will never be worth more than the fifty cents people were offering them per BTC.
That was 8 years ago and it has exploded from that initial market value. It is even rivaling gold's price just a week ago.

Bitcoin I think will have a bright future,no matter what "experts" say.Bitcoin has resisted for years and is very popular among people.There are some price fluctuations around Bitcoin,but this doesn't mean that Bitcoin belongs to the past.

Bitcoin has large user base community supporting it to change the future with the currency that not been adopted implemented till now, because completely different technology, where we can empower nanotechnology as well foundation to future improvement in digital world. That's an interesting way to look at it. I think most people here are optimists but a lot of big plans have come and gone in bitcoinland and a lot of bad shit and bad people are devoted to Bitcoin. How must that look to the rest of the world?

Take your proud Bitcoin Foundation lifetime member image for example. Are they even still around, I thought they were insolvent? I just bounced around their website and found a blog that hasn't been used in eight months. No one is posting in their forum. Their membership includes some of the biggest crooks in Bitcoin history and at least one child star pedophile. They were founded by the biggest crook in Bitcoin history (Karpeles), another big crook (Vessenes)  and a guy that just got out of jail for money laundering for an on-line drug marketplace (Schrem).

How is the world really expected to perceive Bitcoin when these worthless bastards are our best and brightest movers and shakers? WTF?

This reads like the early internet comments coming from people who fear change or something different than the norm. We are in the same early stages where the internet was, so we will see these kinds of comments from uniformed/scared people. The Internet of Money will survive, no matter what is said or done, because there are a network of people supporting it.

They invest money and build their business around it, so they need it to succeed.

Form all the statement above I think Bitcoin will bring reliable self-banking to the unbanked in third world countries there is alot of work to be done to actualise this, the transaction fee need to be look into serious and also the level of volatility need to be minimal.

quite a lot of things that need to be addressed this year. there will probably be some bad news that will make bitcoin have a bad view in the community. Well, maybe they will say that bitcoin was evil, because bitcoin is used for illegal transactions. many other things that will make us worse, but, we need to believe is, we just need to believe bitcoin.

Its just like a journey one is embarking upon along the way, you meet several sets of people, some will be with you till the finish line, others will be dropped along the line with reasons best known to them and believing they are taking the right decison. And that is correct, bitcoin has two potentials its either will conquer the world or just an experiment for the release of fiat digital currency. Well, if he was one of the biggest bitcoin holders in the world, why is he propagating a negative study about it and spreading negative rumors? However its been described, those who have mentioned it an failed experiment have already got benefited from it. So one who trust and use it for good deeds never get tired of it as well won't go for an alternate solution. Even if its used for illegal purposes too, the percentage of users preferring it is very low as its in the early days of sustained growth which takes time to reach more population.

I believe that if something better comes along it will overtake Bitcoin. That's a good illustration you gave about bitcoin being mass adopted. Indeed bitcoin needs it improve some more. But imposing such improvements will require a lot of effort because of how bitcoin was coded. There have been real great debates already from the leading developers, critics, and supporters of bitcoins about the chance they are cooking up to improve bitcoins but I think it will take time before we adopt an improvement.

You're right. The words "bitcoin bank" is now the order of the day in the crypto world. Well, looking at analysis from years back till today, the answer becomes clear. Bitcoin and all other altcoins in general are increasing in value and importance as we move on. Bitcoin banks might not be a bad idea, but it can not stand on its own. In as much as Bitcoin is decentralized, I'd say they are dependent. With time, things will fall into place, but no one should be in a hurry, so as not to crash land and eventually destroy what some people have worked for all through their lives.
