In the Philippines there are no local shops that accepts bitcoin. But online merchants floods the social media selling products and other services in exchange for bitcoin. Filipinos really treats bitcoin as money online seriously and it is well accepted, you can buy shoes, cellphones, beauty products, mobile load, electrical products and many more. Though there are no big stores accepting bitcoin but bitcoin business network is very big online.
Agree. In the online world, we can find a wide array of merchants and stores that accept Bitcoin. However, when it comes to physical stores that would accept it, then there is a very minimal amount of merchants supporting the digital currency. Still, it would be interesting to see Bitcoin accepted at major shops and retailers worldwide, such as Walmart, Sears, Big Lots and others. I think that when that day comes, Bitcoin would've already implemented scalable solutions that would be able to handle more transaction load from customers within the ecosystem. Nevertheless, I hope that more local merchants would accept BTC in the US, as well as any other country in the world.

I hope that more local merchants would accept BTC in the US, as well as any other country in the world. Why You need id? Who need use BTC for items supply or donations, they just use it. Other people need in not for useless troubles. Adopting BTC for accepting present costs of internet connection and equipment. Who have the fun to produce more bills in front of no customers with BTC? Business is about costs cutting.

I think it is still a milestone for Bitcoin! My country, India is on the trend to become cashless after demonetization. As an impact of which, many payment gateway and wallets (ex. Paytm) becoming famous and being accepted by around 80-85% merchants. But if we talk about Bitcoin, hardly 1-2%. Main reason: It is difficult to exchange Bitcoin and its volatility.

I still don't know of physical stores accepting bitcoins here in the Philippines but there are online stores accepting bitcoin for payment. I haven't really tried any of that yet but what I'm thankful for is that we have plenty of ways of cashing in and out, which I've seen in forum, some members are having a problem with. I'm also glad that I can use my bitcoins to load prepaid mobile, and pay bills right out of coins.ph.

most of the physical stores which accept bitcoins are in Brazil. in my area there is a single shop who accept bitcoin and the reason is that the shopkeeper si really interested in bitcoin and he himself has invested a good amount in bitcoin.

There are some stores here in philippines accepting bitcoins as a payment like "The bunny baker" they offer different designs for weddings, birthday occasions. They are also offering a bitcoin cake design.
Really? Are you talking about the Bunny Baker shop at Quezon City? I have been there twice but didn't see anything that can linked to bitcoin payment (yes if they are accepting bitcoin, at least I should have see some things circulating about that even a small one). Too far from my location if I will just checked it just for that thing lol but fortunately to me, they will open at Makati Rustan. It's near at my workplace and I can checked that bitcoin thing now.

Over here, from length and breadth of this country, I have not seem or heard of any store where bitcoin is accepted. This is largely due to the fact that those of us into is kind of coded about it and business that will accept it means they will start valuing their goods in dollar in which dollar itself is not our own official currency... But will time, I see all this encumberances being straightened out...

There use to be when the bitcoin price was above $1000 per coin like it is now but over the past 3 years they all the sudden vanished. I think they didn't see it sustainable with it being under that amount per coin. But now that the price is back to that level (well almost) I would assume that they will return and continue where they left off some many years ago. Since they see it as profitable again.
If Bitcoin crashes back below $1000 like it did this week then they must pull out again? Is that what you are trying to tell us? That is stupid. Shops will accept it if they see that it is good for their business. But it is really not. One reason is because most of the Bitcoiners have only a small amount of Bitcoins in their wallet to spend. We are all poor!

Only one exchange exist here in where I live, but it works well, cashing out and cashing in... But those works only for online transactions, I haven't seen anyone that do a buy and sell or a buyer talking about paying bitcoin to a merchant, many uses their cash or card in most real life purchases... I am waiting for the time too when I can use bitcoin in real life, it would be amazing for sure... Coins.ph now offer virtual card that can be connected to paypal... I inquired but I haven't tried it yet, but for sure, it will be a good progress...

Even if Bitcoin is progressing in value uptrend, and development, it lacks of a wide array of local merchants that accept it. In the US, I have seen several local shops that accept BTC, but it is a very minimal amount when compared to other stores that mostly accept fiat and/or credit cards like Visa. That is why I wonder, why BTC hasn't been greatly adopted by local merchants and retailers worldwide, as it would have a positive effect towards mainstream adoption of it and other digital currencies. Nevertheless, I would like to know if there are local shops around your region or area that would accept BTC. The only merchant now that we have here in my country on which bitcoin accepted is the coins.ph that consist of different categories such as: remittances, billings payment, shop online, and savings in different banks outlet. And this site can be use in my country nationwide even worldwide too.

We can hope so. When five major countries like Brazil, India, China, Russia and South Africa would able to do that in next few years then ROW can easily adopt it. I can just imagine a situation when the whole world will be cashless- A modern Utopian Global Economy. Well! We can just hope

In my country there are just a few merchants and marketplaces that accept Bitcoins. It's just at the begininig, so there is a hairdresser, bakery, cafe and some similar. Hope in the future this will change but at the moment many of merchants think accepting Bitcoins is complicated and not very profitable.

bitcoin is the new adoption in gambling and ponzi scheme. The use of fiat has cause a lot violence and stealing which led to the recent adoption.I don't know of any other marketplace.Government just started research to monitor the use and we hope for larger adoption
