I guess there is no emotion involve anymore in using a martingale method because our betting amount is already fixed based on the system. I completely agree with that. Many of us think that martingale system will make one lose eventually and that it only creates an illusion of winning. However, if we always double the sum in case of lost bet and have a 50/50 chance, eventually we will bet on the right thing but it is very likely that we won't have money at that time. It is really a common misconception of people to think that martingale is great with huge bankroll and discipline. It is about the probability and expected value. Do you understand martingale system at all? Martingale works but you must have an unlimited bankroll if you want to employ that strategy in any serious gambling but practically a roulette cannot play one way throughout (say more than 20 times without a change for you to win) You can even tweak your martingale strategy to switch hands to the other outcome if it keeps playing one way for more than 10 times by still doubling up your previous loses so you can recover all previous loses plus a profit of your original stake .
