I cannot possibly find any concrete information as to the highest achievable overclock which is deemed safe on 480s equipped with Samsung memory modules.

Any insight would be helpful.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to all GDDR5 memory modules which come equipped with the latest cards available from AMD as well as Nvidia instead of constraining it to the RX 480.  You are most welcome to share modules for older architectures and to those fortunate enough to own a thermal camera, please share corresponding temperatures.  To those savvy enough to determine the maximum temperatures which are deemed safe for particular modules, please do not hesitate to share your input.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

thought i saw someone running memory @ 2250 with modded straps on eth.

look around for bios mod threads.

It depends on cooling, and etc. Also do you want to mod bios or just use overclock tool.

The MSI Gaming X allows me to overclock it beyond the 2250 barrier simply with Afterburner and since this card has got but a single bios, I wouldn't want to jeopardize its warranty.  The GPU operates at about 60*C with the fan @ 88% as to somewhat ensure to keep the memory cool.  I have brought the memory modules to 2300 and mined ETH without stability problems as well as rejected shares for about 12 hours.  My 1070 is equipped with Micron memory which has been running stable for weeks at 9.41 Ghz and am also wondering how much more headroom I've got on these modules.

Is 2300 Top limit MSI allows?  Might wanna try to increase it more if card allows.

I can confirm it does via GPU-Z.

It can go up to 2600 Mhz.

Try higgher, just dont save it to BIOS. Worse case you get artifatcs or BSOD and just restart machine.

You can change the BIOS and set the max frequency that u want, independently from the value set by the producer.
However my cards became unstable over 2200 (I am using 1750 timings)

Which particular cards are you speaking of?

I appreciate your advice, however I remain reluctant to go any higher than 2300 until a knowledgeable member deems it safe.

Make sure you checked "Extend official overclocking limits" once you click on Afterburner's properties tab.

Are you running on stock voltages/core clock?

2600 MHz? Did you checked for memory errors? I am sure there will be plenty.

I have been running stable @ 2300 memory as well as 1425 on core mining ETH, ZEC as well as XMR over a 24+ hour period.  I haven't tested for memory errors but remain convinced I haven't encountered any given I haven't been submitting an excessive number of stale/invalid/incorrect shares.  I'm simply waiting for another member to confirm it is indeed safe to go beyond that threshold.

A SeaHawk X w/ Micro can run at 9598 Mhz without sacrificing stability or introducing incorrect shares on ETH as well as ZEC.  Do note that shares no longer validate on XMR @ this frequency using CCminer and that MSI afterburner restricts the card from surpassing the 9598 Mhz barrier.

My MSI 480s are slightly behind at 9400 Mhz on all algorithms previously mentioned algorithms although my modules are set at 9200 Mhz for the sake of safety as 9600 Mhz immediately hangs the system.

I will shortly have access to a thermal camera but until then, the only strategy left at my disposal is to estimate that the temperature of my memory modules on air-cooled cards are operating at 20*C higher than that of my GPU as this proves to be applicable in most cases.
