Amazing. I requested this feature sometimes in the forum and you implemented it. Thanks. Recently I commented here about something like it. See the comments: http://code.google.com/p/bitcoin-wallet/issues/detail?id=121It's great have this data on openstreetmap (free data that everybody can use) Do you accept sugestions to improve the page or you want this basic?

1- I think It's important to show on popup informations like city, country, neighborhood... I think this kind of information can be extracted from openstreetmap "looking" the boundaries where the place is in. Right?

Not only from boundaries but from the tags added on the place too.

2- You could add an option to switch to other layers like Bing Maps/Satellite, Google Maps/Satellite and others

3- I think when many places be added, the map will have a lot of icons, being slow and hard to click on it. I think It's important have something like show only countries and if the user click on it, will zoom in and show icons on each state. Click on state, will zoom in and show icons for the cities. On city level, will show all icons with exact places locations. One thing I like is bewelcome site. Look they have an option to filter/show places by (Map boundaries). http://www.bewelcome.org/searchmembers

There may still be hope for the 1st decentralized cryptocurrency which is Bitcoin. How to approach different subjects is key to progress.

Stick,
You did better than I expected. I loved the last improvement that show the number of places in area and when clicked, zoom in. Really great. What is in your TODO list on coinmap.org?

Thanks! I currently don't have anything big in the TODO list. I was able to add most of the improvements on the fly, because the code is rather simple.

This is a list of things I would like to see on coinmap.org 1- I don't like the idea to have to be redirected to openstreetmap.org to add/edit a place on coinmap.org. I think should have a top banner with a button like: (add a new place). I know a website that does something like this, see: http://ae.osmsurround.org/ae/index#As you can see, the site have a button called oauth/login, so I ask: Do you think is possible coinmap store your openstreetmap login/password? So users of coinmap shouldn't have the necessary to create an osm account or have to login. When users try to add a new place on coinmap will appear a new window where will be showed a map (Bing satellite layer) where the user will add the placemark. When the user add the placemark, will popup some suggestions of places that are near of placemark, to know if the place is already added on openstreetmap. If the place is already on openstreetmap, the user will click on it, and choose edit it, adding other informations, example: mark that the place accept bitcoin. If the place is not yet on openstreetmap, will appear the fields to be filled, like name, address, website, phone...... Today I saw a very interesting site that use leaflet and is able to move the placemark with touchscreen hardware. When user (add/edit places on map), I think you should do the same thing, (allow move placemark with touchscreen). See the site: http://map.project-osrm.org/ Source code info: http://project-osrm.orgDo you like the idea? Is it possible implement it? I'll wait to see if you implement it, so I can suggest new things. Thanks again

My "must have" features: - Recognize well known contact:website tag
- Add more info to popup
- Permalink with current position and zoom (like on main osm.org site)
- Link to one of well known OSM bugs sites to help people report new places
Also, any contact link to at least this forum will help people to contact you. As well, we can open new topic there to let people report new places. I'm personally will be happy to add them.

Ah, added. I was just checking for website tag. Could you be more specific? I added most of the reasonable information already. Also if you click on * next to venue name it will take you to the OSM browser.

Stick, I don't think exist a free database for places comments and photos. So I think you should request this kind of informations from services like https://developer.foursquare.comDo you think this is possible? Request the places comments and photos from services like foursquare?
