Hey guys, I'm fairly new to all of this and I need some opinions. I realize nobody can predict the future......hear all, trust nothing. If you guys had 1 bitcoin to invest in an alt coin. What would you choose and why?

I'm not afraid of risk.

I was reading about Byteball and it seems interesting. I'm not expert and most of this stuff is over my head.

Since you are asking I invite you to look at Burstcoin,Icobid and Victoriouscoin and of course don't let the top altcoin in the coinmarketcap escape your attention, they should be your priority.

Spectre (XSPEC) just updated with the whole network running under Tor.
This makes it the most Anonymous coin in crypto surpassing all the Anon coins.
Visit thier forum, read and decide if you want to invest in this project. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.340

The ICO ended with price 89sat or so but now around 3600sat and still way undervalued. I think this is the right time to invest in this project before the price sky rockets after their mobile remmitance app is released. Already on 4 exchanges and counting.

Ethereum classic
Why?
1st of all it have one the biggest market cap among under $2 Crypto Currencies. Which is about $118,086,794.
2sd The lowest point this coin ever went was $.77. Even then the Market cap was about $70+ Million.
3rd there is a huge community dedicated due to Idealistic reasons. They estimate this could go up to $22. (I highly doubt it).
https://ethereumclassic.github.io/
4thMicrosoft is looking into it.
https://news.bitcoin.com/microsoft-looks-rebel-ethereum-classic/
Traders perspective.
Last year the coin touched its 52 week low $0.77. Since then It have risen up to $2(52 week high) .
Then it fell down to $1.17. With a week this rose up to 1.45.
Then it fell down to $1.35. Trading between $1.29- 1.35
IN my option $1.30 is the resistance line.
And in the upcoming weeks this is very likely to go up.
And if you wait long enough IT WILL Touch $2 Again. Bc in my option this coin is worth $2.

Disclaimer: This is only my perspective!!!

What ever you chose you need to stay focused and cold headed. Putting money in non regulated exchanges and in generaly very risky and shady projects, is crazy. But this is only way for success.
If you are ready to risk then lern as much as you can.
Ask members for advices here and try to catch tricks. But Desisions are only yours.
Don't trust to nobody.

My advice would be buy Cloakcoin and wait for a while, it will double its value, at least,
but has potential to go over 100k sat, now is around 20k.

Nobody can presicted the future but your going to create your own destiny to know what your future really are  if i had 1 bitcoin 0.5  or half of it is going in to crypto trading and the other half will probably in to ico invesement to make profit by yhe end of the month isn't this good idea.

Since you are new to the alt coin space, I would invest in the top ten alt coins by market cap. I would buy 10% in each, and let’s hope you have more winners than losers.

I think you should go for Iconomi.
It will diversify your investment and pay weekly dividends in Ethereum.

The best way to start into the crypto-world as an investor.

Why aren't Polo or Bittrex listing this coin?

If 1 BTC is your whole coin. I dont recommended invest your whole BTC to altcoins. I think, separete better way. like holding 0.5 BTC buying 0.5 altcoins. If You think for long term. You definitely buy eth, etc, xmr, fct,(maybe)ltc, zec(maybe). and bitcoin is pumped nowadays. You should consider all this elements.

you're safest bet is probably to just keep your BTC and HODL.

Trading in and out of altcoins will most likely produce a negative return.

BTC once it breaks ATH could rally pretty far up to 5-10k or so.

Altcoins I would research are NEM, IOTA, and FCT

NEM   NanoWallet   SuperNodes   Apostille   Landstead   Catapult   Mijin

Holding your BTC in wallet is "safe" but will you invest, and are not afraid about the risk, trade with your BTC. Not all in one coin. This can bring you good profits if you trade without emotions.
