What is real there? The web site seems to not be updated. Anyway, all projects in this field like Elastic, Golem, iex.ec and IOTA are interesting and prospective. All use different technologies. In our case we will work on simplification interface for integration with other projects, so that computing power can flow to the most profitable project.

We have it quite simple in the begining.
In brief - AirBnB/Uber for computers. Distributed computing market exchange. Similar to Golem, Elastic project, iex.ec, IOTA, but different middlewate and technology. Hopefully we ll be first to the market for any sort of tasks.

There are lots of miners with GPU farms becoming useless due to increasing difficulty (even for altcoins mining). Sometimes mining profit doesn't even cover the cost of electricity spent for PoW.

Fog computing projects using miners' computing resources for calculations give the new life to solo mining.

What do you mean saying 'even for altcoin mining'? Of course you utilize only the hardware used for altcoin mining! For Bitcoin nothing except the most powerful ASIC's make sense to use for many years now. But you are not able to use those ASICs, right? Your expression above is misleading.

Anyway, I wanted to ask which GPU are you planning to be able to use? What are smallest specs to be able to mine for SONM? Which version of cuda, opencl, how much ram? Sure I don't expect exact numbers, but just an idea on the min specs... For example, will Radeon 280x do? 380x? And what about HD5770 or similar?

It is very actively developed last few months (as well as before), with latest changes done this week, if I'm not mistaken. According to developers, it is practically ready to be launched with its full functionality (unlike well-hyped Golem and ic.ex). So most probably you wont be the first to produce the working product as you wrote before.
Elastic is missing mostly the marketing/PR + use cases. It would have been great if you could integrate that with your DrugDiscovery@home project, instead of competing actually...

No reason to unite the projects, because we have our own team, our own vision and our own interests, but integration is possible with all of the projects, we anyway need funding for work of our team, so ico we need anyway. But what we can explain here is that making SONM is beneficial for the market and may be beneficial for other projects and their success can be beneficial for us as well.

Btw, we have now some integration with GridCoin (just white list, but may be a bit more in the future, but it s important to underline that the projects are essentially different - GridCoin just gives rewards, not organizes market of P2P computing), so most probably miners will get SNM tokens together with GridCoin tokens.

Btw, we changed our company registration address to "Kemp House, 152 City Road, London EC1V 2NX". This is done due to financial reasons. Previously we rented virtual office from London Presence and now we do it from Capital Office London.  That is also mass registration address. Unfortunately as with any mass registration address you can find something bad about this address. We ll be happy to register it at some of our friend s places to avoid issues with mass registration address. We are working on that. To rent a real office we need around 400-1000 GBP per month and someone sitting there, which will be at least 1500-2000 GBP per month on top of that. So in order to have real office in London we need about 30 000 GBP minimum, something like 60 000 CHF in Switzerland.

We are sitting in Moscow, Warsaw and Oslo. London is just a place to register a company for different legal purposes. However, we plan to make real offices after ICO and maybe even after pre-ICO somewhere in western Europe and USA (Switzerland, London, California for example). It s just a question of funds available.

Yes, according to developers and the community, it is in very advanced stage, close to 'completed' in first version. I cannot neither confirm it, nor deny. It was very close to completion development-wise, but now I am not sure.

Testnet was available and tested working, before the latest pretty big changes (introduction of supernodes)... As always, development likes to develop, and if this is left purely on developers, it could never release (this is completely IMHO based on my own project management experience though, unrelated to this specific project..).

Same thing with us. We are almost ready to present some prototype and we expect it to work right from the start. But...release is shifted from time to time because we like to develop :-) Also we prepare good marketing.

Let s say it in this way. We expect our computing power to be cheaper and due to usage of BOINC we expect it to have less bugs, security issues and different problems. Therefore we expect that computing power from any similar project like Elastic, Golem or iex.ec will eventually flow into our network, so we want to simplify it as much as possible. It is important to understand here that it s not important who is the first. It is important who is cheaper. I have to compare it with   oil price market (although I have nothing to do with it and it may be far from IT) - it doesn t matter who has discovered the oil first actually at the end, because the most profits will be done by those, who has the cheapest oil.

Same thing is here. It doesn t matter if Elastic is first, it matters that technology is more secure, cheaper for buyers and has wider developers community (and we do...we have the whole BOINC community for it). Once we are cheaper and more secure - it will not take much time to get all users and developers from Elastic. If it s opposite, then it will go opposite way. No place for pre-judgement before real things here.

1. We've almost finished SONM project whitepaper, v.0.8.
We are getting feedback from respected crypto, BOINC and grid computing community members and are editing whitepaper again, and again, and again - to make the WP as clear as possible from technical and financial points of view.

2. Our developers are deploying Ethereum smart contracts and making security audit.

3. Arrangements with SONM project advisers and escrow(s) are in progress.

4. Lots of other stuff to be done.
