Melonport [MLN] Blockchain Software for Asset Management

NOTE: I do not work for Melonport and am not associated with them in any way. I found out about it and notice there is zero discussion of the project on this forum. Here is some helpful information.

The Melon protocol is a blockchain protocol for digital asset management on the Ethereum platform. It enables participants to set up, manage and invest in digital asset management strategies in an open, competitive and decentralised manner.

Our usage token is called Melon token [MLN] and is a core component of the Melon project. It is designed to enjoy a “usage right” to the Melon protocol. To use the Melon protocol one has to use MLN token. This “usage fee” will most likely be imposed on trading.

All MLN token that are paid by Users to access Melon will go into a smart contract called a “Multichain fund”. The purpose of this fund is to secure trustless connectivity to other blockchains as well as redeploying the Melon protocol to other blockchains with different properties. Making it in effect a multichain capable software for asset management.

A maximum of 1,250,000 MLN will be created before the final version of the Melon protocol is deployed to the live network. Following the live deployment, a fixed amount of new token will be created periodically and be distributed towards the most widely used Modules of the Melon protocol. This incentivises maintenance and development of the Melon protocol even after its final version is deployed to the live network.

I have been waiting to see their ANN page here since I saw the project on ico-list.com, the design is similar to what ICONOMI is doing but you said this is not their official ANN page, is the team not planning to engage potential investors on this forum and answer some questions.

It's not a DAO. It's a protocol for portfolio managers who want to pre-define rule sets on their portfolio or fund using smart contracts. Once you have set this rule set the portfolio manager can't work outside of the pre defined parameters The parameters can include things such as: - predefining assets that you can trade with (defining a digital asset universe) - management and performance fees (if you can/aim to have investors) - which exchanges portfolio manager can transact with - risk manage (setting rules to manage risk).
