Bitcoin can't prevent crime because we already witnessed it can't. One of the factors why bitcoin can't prevent crime because it is anonymous and people like scammers can take advantage of that feature and scam other people without worrying about his/her personal information. In my opinion, there is no currency that can prevent crime even though it is bitcoin or fiat.

Could bitcoin prevent crime?
Bitcoins can prevent crime if they are being used in the right way while if you see right now most of the guys are using it for storing black money and some people for criminal activities. I think if everyone starts using bitcoins then it would be awesome and kill crime as no one can then rob you on roads and a positive impact at the very least !

Bitcoin willnot prevent crime. It has nothing to do with it.If you say about the money sent from one person to other via blockchain transaction and hence it cannot be stolen. Then, what would you say if the bitcoin account was hacked with stolen password and all the savings in the wallet gone?

Its all about the mindset of people who uses bitcoin. If only bitcoin will be used in a positive way. Since bitcoin doesn't need personal meet ups or face to face transactions, it will indeed help to lessen the rate of theft. Especially in the for of cash transactions.

of course not all transaction are positive and not all users gonna use bitcoin in a positive ways there are always ups and downs even in the most perfect system there is, there will always be a human error, and in my opinion bitcoin would not count as a theft lessen transaction because even escrows would do such crime!
