Hi, does anyone sell coins that are unfunded - pref DIY so I can print the private key myself and know I am the only one that sees it. I've seen one but wondering how many are out there. Most that I see already have a specific bitcoin amount on them. I'm looking for something that is more like a physical wallet made out of a coin so I can put any amount on it without having to match the amount on the coin (i know this isn't actually required). Thanks

The recently sold out silver wallets would fit that description (to only name one candidate), I'm sure you can find one on the aftermarket (aka here ). The Ravenbit DIY has no face value either (again, sold out, gotta find one on the aftermarket).

https://nastyfans.org/mintI would buy a nastyfan coin and load it, it as its private and public keys engraved on it and I think that is a lot more secure than a DIY coin

Check out the encyclopedia of physical crypto-currency ( https://coinfirm.org/), it'll have all the details of every unfunded (and loaded) option available. Then cruise the forum to find what you need. DIY all day long. By the way, the inspiration for the book and the main author is a guy who goes by Elianite on this forum. Search his posts and you'll find more details. Godspeed.

While I 100% trust ognasty and own tons of nastyfans coins, a coin where 2 people know the key is always less safe than a coin with 1 person knowing it.

Not necessarily, I expect manufacturers like NastyFans would have a lot more experience in the technical security needed to keep a wallet safe. A wallet produced and then destroyed on an isolated system is less likely to be compromised in future. Some people producing DIY coins could be vulnerable to a trojan fishing around their system and stealing credentials, even if they were deleted.

One would figure that if you are generating keys for long term storage you would do it securely but I guess some people don't know proper "best practices".

Nastyfan coins are the only coins I know of, besides the keyosis capsule that I can leave out in the rain/fire/etc because the private key is not on a piece of paper that can get destroyed/fade away in 100 years.
