obviously there are second interests in many of the preceding posts prior to mine! sure everyone wants to make a point of saying something constructive but doing just a bit of research from many peoples posts before this campaign of social media tells the truth of that person! i have already posted my thoughts of this coin and project and i think it does have good potential but only if the devs keep up with their interest and dont fall shy like so many other devs with other coins before them!

There is also some downside on advertising in social medias. Specially in twitter there are many accounts with fake followers which doesn't make any difference or doesn't have any importance. Rather than getting some investors social media campaigns prior to ICO is good for creating early buzz. 

for all forms of advertising whether they are banner ads on bitcoin related website, signature campaigns or social medias,... there is always some downside. even when you post banners on the highways there is downside of people ignoring it.

it is still a great way of getting the word out there and letting many people know about your whatever that is being advertised.

Give it time, maybe there are not fancy graphics at the moment but the important thing is the project in itself, I’m sure as time goes on the op will give it an overhaul.

Target funds are vary per ICO.

Also to make an ICO a success, it does not only pointing to the collected funds but rather the community's support especially after the ICO. Look at Stratis, their collected funds is only 900+ btc, whic is really a small one compare to other ICO's, but established a good volume at some of the exchange (e.g Poloniex). It's really depend on the support of the community.

It is not important that someone decorate their announcement thread for getting the success but the loyalty of the developers is more important. But there are some people who when look at an attractive announcement then they do not feel bored to study on that thread for that reason you can redesign.

I just visited the home page for Chain of Points and noticed that we now have 13 participants for this ICO. I know that the crowdsale just started but it would be great if the team will provide more advertisement in the following days. Awareness for this project will increase because of other forms of advertisement and will attract more investors.

I dont think this will happen in our lifetime. The Chain is one of the most cruel and inferior cryptos I have seen on this message board, and nobody seems to be patronizing it at the moment because everyone is hyping DASH for the sake of getting a nice tight short entry.

I really agree on this.  There are several altcoin thread announcement that looks very professional but been proven to be a scam / scum project at the end.  For me I would rather have a great developer that are dedicated on their project and stay in their worlds than great graphic designer that does not know how to code or implement their whitepaper.  Though having both ( professional design and dedicated dev team) will surely boost the investors interest to the project.

That is why there is this signature campaign to bring that awareness to the bitcoin community of their offering and hopefully some on those that visit the site will puchase some shares from the ICO during the crowdfunding.

But we have a Twitter audit to find out if followers are real or fake.
All successful ICOs have run social media campaigns and they all have benefited with them a lot.
People usually prefer to invest in most talked about projects.Average small investors do not care to read whole whitepaper. All they gather info is from various sources and put their investment on that basis.
Small investors also play important role in making any ICO a success.
