How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

Bitcoin is only banned in 2 or 3 small countries that nobody cares bout. and in the rest of the world, specially the big developed countries bitcoin is not only banned but also recognized as a legal thing.

Russia has never banned bitcoin, in fact they have the biggest conferences each year taking place in Moscow (the capital) about bitcoin.

China has never banned bitcoin. their central bank even issued an statement saying "it is legal for any person to buy, hold, trade and use bitcoin"

same goes for other countries. Japan for example, has announced bitcoin to be a legal currency.

Exactly, These countries are giving the warning to discharge their responsibility towards bitcoin. Since there is no organisation which controls the bitcoin, there is no consumer dispute mechanism structure and thus governments want us to use fiat currencies so that they can control the things.

I agree with pooya87 & Dudeperfect.
These countries merely put some kind of "restrictions" in dealing with BTCs & not ban the use of it.
Because in reality, it would be a tough tough move for them to even regulate the utilization of bitcoin
as there's no one governing it.

Where did you get this news from.?
I don't know how people think like this. Do you know that China holds the largest number of miners in the world.?
The government may hate Bitcoin for it's features but they can't ban it.

Your title is misleading, you should change it.
Even if some countries ban bitcoin, the people in those countries will continue to use btc.
Bitcoin was restricted in Russia but thousands of russians were using btc despite the restrictions.

Right, there were some issues too that China owns bitcoin, though it wasn't been confirmed and there is no confirmations on it. Bitcoin might banned in some countries but it will be hard to implement and same with government controlling on it it's impossible to do so.

If they can't ban it. Why there's country that can ban it? They can banned it, but they can't stop bitcoin. They can't stop it because many people see it that this bitcoin has a good potential.

Bitcoin is banned on those countries because they cant able to centralised it but it doesnt mean that bitcoin users on that country cant already use, they can still since transaction arent traceable at all which means its still okay it not totally restricted when it comes to its users maybe on services but not on them. This is just my opinion.
2 countries wouldnt be nothing at all if the remaining countries would adopt it.

Bitcoin is already a global currency , Secondly I want to you that in China , ban of bitcoin is about impossible because  the CHINA is the mazor country who is bitcoin genrator through mining and also have bitcoin bank and officially the government of the China declared bitcoin as legal thing and nothing is bad to use it .
So bitcoin is already a global currency but its user are very less according to the population of the world .
So probably it will take much time to became officially global currency  .

I don't think China is banning bitcoin yet, there are a lot of user from china and Russia, the banning is because the government can't control the transaction from bitcoin, when a lot of shops are adapting bitcoin I think it will be hard for government to banned bitcoin anymore, because the transaction anonymous so the government will having a hard time to figure out whether the transaction is from their country or other country

What is the source of this claim  Huh
China and Russia actually love to use bitcoin and china is the heaven for bitcoin miners. No any country have banned use of bitcoin, if some government want to ban than they can just ban local bitcoin trading platform. Nobody can stop/ban bitcoin transactions and nobody can shutdown whole bitcoin network.

Yeah, China is the heaven for bitcoin users and miners. Recently just because of them a small chaos took place due to fake volumes. No country has made official bans on bitcoin, Russia announced bitcoin use as a crime and now considering the technology it has proposed for the use in financial administration.

Op you have got all your facts entirely wrong and some one has misled you really badly. Russia has never banned Bitcoin, if you Google you can read about the conferences that takes place. China can be considered the mother of Bitcoin they have never banned it, if you are referring to the crackdown on exchanges on China that phase is over and Bitcoin has long moved on to it. Do you know that a School in India accepts Bitcoin, swizz accepts Bitcoin as payments, you can book a cab using Bitcoin in Italy I suppose, there is a online mall also. If you put a demographic picture you can see Bitcoin is used by each and every country now so my advice would be to Google such stuff or just browse through this thread sections.

Bitcoin is not controled by government like Russia and China
it can become global currency if all of the people around the countries
and use bitcoin for payment method on daily real life,
mass adoption are more good than baning from the governmet.

Well bitcoin is banned in some countries but they can still used it through TOR or something like that,
I think that government doesn't really accept bitcoin since they can't control it and they don't have profit through it.

2 country will hardly make any difference especially because they are very small in terms of population

Maybe there should be justified I think. Russia was ever banned the use of bitcoin but at the end of 2016 they accept bitcoin, and bitcoin far as I know in China are not banned fully but if the banks and financial companies using Bitcoin was banned. And now has begun a lot of countries that accept bitcoin, so in the future bitcoin can grow and become global.

China and Russia didn't ban it, so we have no worries yet. The countries that made it illegal are too small to affect us in any way. Yes, the two countries making Bitcoin illegal would mean a big, BIG change (the price would freefall) but I don't see that happening.

You should get your facts correct before posting this kind of thread. Bitcoin is not really banned in China. As a matter of fact, China is the biggest player of bitcoin. China can manipulate the bitcoin price. Russia just declare that bitcoin is "not illegal" recently. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country

Even if everyone banned it bitcoin would still exist, thats its power, it doesnot belong to anyone, only to the people who use it and everyday they multiply. To be honest the first time i understood BTC is for real was when central banks started to warn against it, it was like they legitimize it in my eyes.

Russian banned bitcoin in 2015, but they couldn't ban it because people use bitcoin on the internet and exchange it to the cash offline, like trade bitcoin in localbitcoin.com This way is prevent the government ban. China can't ban bitcoin either, they blocked the transaction in/out exchange's bank accounts, but they found the result was not good, people cab still exchange it.

Erroneous statement as most of the posters in here can tell. In fact, placing restrictions on bitcoin simply means that these countries are sitting up, taking notice and recognising bitcoin, which is a huge step in acceptance. Outright banning will do little to stop the use of bitcoin anyway. It simply means the country's fiat can't participate in the trading of bitcoin. Sounds like a loss to me.

that's right maybe they can ban those local exchange market and avoid people there to buy bitcoin and exchange it back to their fiat but as long as they are still internet access for sure it will be hard for them to totally ban people to do some bitcoin related transaction as we knew that it is a great investment in the real world.

I don't even know which countries have banned bitcoin but since they're not in the news then they're probably small insignificant countries. I don't know about Russia but China definitely haven't banned bitcoin, that's for sure. If they did, then they wouldn't allow miners to continue operating and didn't go with exchanges that are manipulating their traffic.

They might want a bit more say when it comes to certain aspects of bitcoin (no state would want people to launder money and evade taxes) but certainly there is no benefit for them to outright ban it.

Bitcoin becomes globally known because of it's constant increase in value! I oly know that Russia banned bitcoin but I don't know if China does the same. Btut even if they banned bitcoin, they cannot prevent their citizen to use it because that is one of the specialty of bitcoin. You can use it even without identification!

Japan for example, has announced bitcoin to be a legal currency.

and it seems bitcoin has become a mainstream currency in china as there are many services inside the country which appeared to be accepting bitcoin as an alternative for cash and there are so many Chinese bitcoin traders so we can say that china has never banned bitcoin and they are not going to ban it I guess . Chinese whales are looking for new opportunity and ways to make more money and it seems they found it on bitcoin .

It is not banned in Russia and China and the support of bitcoin is more higher in China so it s not sensible to think that it will be banned in China any time. only a few countries have banned it and these countries are not much bigger in their technology and education wise so they often think that with bitcoin there will be crime in their countries by those who are criminals but the developed countries know that crimes are not due to bitcoin.

First of all Bitcoin is not banned in those countries but even if it was so , it really cannot be banned.

Because.
1. You can use Tails Linux with Electrum wallet already preinstalled in it via the TOR network.
2. You can use a VPN  together with the above tools and no one will know that it was really "you" that used bitcoin.

Bitcoin cannot be stopped no matter what governments will try to do to stop it.

Can you post some links pertaining to your post that indicates the actual declaration of Russia and China to ban bitcoin. As far as my knowledge is concerned Russia did not ban bitcoin, at this moment they are just observing the movement of bitcoin and they will only act if bitcoin will be used in illicit activities. China on the other hand did not ban bitcoin rather they have declared that owning of bitcoins was a right of every Chinese in their country.

If ever a bitcoin is banned on any country, there are still a way to transact it and underground bitcoin economy is thriving. The government banned it for they can not control it and impose taxes but people are finding a way to to trade and transact with it.Even in China, the biggest holder of bitcoin they say is having their own crypto exchanges Smiley

Bitcoin is a currency of people and not of government. No ban would be effective enough to prevent people from using it.
If government in my country ban bitcoin,I can keep my bitcoin in some off shore offline wallet and buy good and services online from international market.

if too many countries to ban the bitcoin course, it will damage the bitcoin system. bitcoin could have been received and are currently bitcoin have started entering a state government level. with the support of various parties, including major companies in the world then I'm sure bitcoin will be accepted slowly.

Well, it doesn't need to be global as even the big country bans it, there's still tons of country accepting it. If you compare paypal to btc, now people are prefer to use btc as we can see on most currency exchange category in the forum

People are willing to pay for btc from paypal with rate of extra 5-10% at preev

Meaning people prefer to use BTC than Paypal

I really disagree with your view. If you do a research you will find out that Russia is more friendly now with bitcoin and their users because the deputy minister of finance reversed the plan to ban the bitcoin usage https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/russia-reverses-plan-to-penalize-bitcoin-use/. Moreover as far as it regards China of course the PBOC has a lot of influence over bitcoin and want to regulate it  but on the other side the two third of the mining power are in their home.

I will say lets wait till when that eventually happens before we begin to know what to say about it because those two countries you have there have not made their position known to the best of my knowledge as regarding banning bitcoin. China has the largest mining farms for bitcoin and they largely have control over the price of bitcoin. Russia on the same has not banned bitcoin as we have had several conferences on the subject matter coming from over there.

I think these two country are trying to regulate Bitcoin, though at some point of history they plan to ban bitcoin but instead they just think of advising their population to take cautious.  At this time, this two country are open to Bitcoin but still trying ways on how to regulate it.

In the coming future everyone know that the success is related to only bitcoin payment system for local and international business and their transactions so in that time every country will want to adopt it for their country to get the success for their citizens in the international market and no one will ban it but everyone will be attracted to it.

as far I know Bitcoin is not banned in Venezuela, at least according to the law, but I don't know if is restricted or something.

of course in all totalitarians regimes everything is forbidden including what is allowed, so I don't know if Bitcoin is forbidden in practice

That's the lie of the day! How in a the first place can Bitcoin be banned? Shutting down Internet? It seems people need to get it straight about the mechanisms behind the operation of Bitcoin. Do more research on this forum; there are lots of threads discussing how decentralized is.

Bitcoin is not banned yet in anywhere. But it is pretty possible in the case if bitcoin will cost too much. I think some countries will see real danger in bitcoin in the case of big price, cause of many people will try to cash out their bitcoins to not skip that chance. And in that moment many people will became milliners or just rich people in one moment. Time will show how governments will accept bitcoin. Just cause of they don't wish to share their wealth they can kill bitcoin in the most beginning.

as everyone else has said, bitcoin hasn't been banned in russia or china.

it would be very interesting to see what did happen if it really was explicitly banned somewhere where there's an actual bitcoin scene of a sort. i'll guess somewhere in south america will be the first.

Russian and china has never once banned bitcoin rather most of bitcoinist are from those countries. All developed countries are correctly using bitcoin and that is why it values keep on increasing. I will advice investors to keep their investment in bitcoin as is more safer than stock and others assets. Traders should also look for business opportunity that exists in bitcoin and explore it.

Bitcoin can be global because of the transaction that is easy and fast. Plus fee is cheaper to send across the country or even continent. It is that I think bitcoin quickly spread globally. For some countries restrict bitcoin I guess it does not really affect the use bitcoin in other countries. But sometimes if big country was rumored to prohibit bitcoin then this will affect the price movement. thank you. IMO

Russia had planned to ban bitcoins but did not finalize this step. They wanted to penalize people exchanging their currency with bitcoins on exchanges and even give them a jail sentence.

@OP: Only Bolivia and Bangladesh have officially banned the currency citing their foreign currency control act saying that it's illegal to trade in any currency that is not regulated. These countries don't even have much demand of bitcoins among their citizens and China can never ban bitcoins as they indeed support it.

Bitcoin is going to be more adoptable and acceptable in the coming days like almost of the countries of the world will adopt bitcoin for the use in their states and the development of the countries will be linked with it so if you will say that there will be a problem that these countries will ban it that is wrong as they will not want to deny their states to be the part of that modern and advanced technology of the future.

Although bitcoin is a future of the economy, the number of people who underestimate Bitcoin is still very high. We still need to do a lot of think if you want Bitcoin to be adopted. Some governments still think Bitcoin is a threat. Other even ban Bitcoin for no reason. THerefore, we still have to wait for a long time for Bitcoin to become the world new currency

I believe you've got misleading information about bitcoin. Read this https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country
Some countries banned bitcoin, indeed, due to some illegal incidents in the past such as money laundering.
But Russia and China doesn't ban bitcoin
China : While private parties can hold and trade bitcoins in China, regulation prohibits financial firms like banks from doing the same
Russia : As of November 2016, bitcoin is not illegal according to a Russian federal tax service letter
Mostly countries doesn't regulated bitcoin yet and stated it legal to have it as commodity or digital currency but government not responsible if something happen to your bitcoin.

Bitcoin is going to be more adoptable and acceptable in the coming days so if you will say that there will be a problem that these will ban it but that is wrong because you do no now that bitcoin is the future of economy.
I agree with you . The current movement of bitcoin is increasing. of course, the government is currently nursing glance and regulation of bitcoin. we still have to wait until it was all finished. Bitcoin is the future of financial system.

Doesn't matter who ever ban bitcoin because not all nation are going to ban bitcoin. Some government really appreciate the technology while other see bitcoin as illegal medium of money transaction. So every bodys thinking is different and it's won't affect the bitcoin user world wide. Because some may give good bye but other will still use it.

Currently we have no threat for any ban of bitcoin in any big country even in Russia and China its just rumor most of developed countries enjoying spread of this and adaption is very good right now just few developing and corrupt countries have problem but its not going to hurt any one because they already have no worth in bitcoin community

How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

Initially Russia ban bitcoin, but puttin have been declared recently it's not ban anymore, it's little bit confusing we don't know they plan, also Russia have a plan to create their own digital currency.
In China trading bitcoin individually is legal.

Some country have been open mind to bitcoin https://news.bitcoin.com/worlds-top-10-bitcoin-friendly-countries/

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/the-russian-bitcoin-ban-is-on-indefinite-hold/

And all of the sadly news have released by the chinese are totally bullshit. Don't bring yourself into all of the FUD, dude. May you see venezuela?

i wouldn't trust anything that cryptocoinsnews says, they are known liars and in the past i have seen enough lies from them to ignore all their articles.

if you want to talk about any country or get any information about them, seek reliable sources. even wikipedia has better updates sources:
such as this link which was repeated a couple of times here.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country

p.s. in case of this news they seem to be correct.

I never heard that Bitcoin banned 100% in any country. I think in all country people are using this bitcoin. It's not easy to ban 100% bitcoin transaction in any country. But the government can call the bitcoin transaction is illegal, and they have rights to punish those who use bitcoin. According to my knowledge bitcoin is not banned in any country. Only the govt is not accepting this bitcoin as a legal currency that's it.

As far as i am aware it is not banned in them countries that you mention  Huh  and even if it was banned world wide the government cannot stop you using it anyway so a ban would be pointless Grin

No ban could stop people from using bitcoins..And what would be the use of this for any country? But I can understand that some countries would.like to regulate bitcoin and this doesn't necessary be bad. Maybe regulation could help to put the line between illegal and legal use of bitcoins.

Regulation makes the price higher for the customer, that means you need to pay more to use the currency, you will need to pay fees, the cost for you will be higher than now, making you lose money that could be your profit.
Being illegal or not, bitcoin will be used for good and bad things, it depends who is using the crypto currency. It's not bitcoin fault.

I do not think Bitcoin will be affected by the ban of states. Bitcoin will still be used even if all the countries of the world are united and banned.
Because of its bitcoin structure, it does not need any institutional support. Only by the use of people who love him, he continues to exist.

Until this time Bitcoin came only with people to trust and use. Behind it succeeded without any power or authority.

as a far as i know only in bangladesh and venezuela there is a real ban and they can put you in jail for that, russia was undecided for a long time and they restricted it at soem point but right now they do not ban it

2 country will hardly make any difference especially because they are very small in terms of population
How come they are able to monitor the users transaction even if they plan to monitor things.I think it is just a scare tactics and these countries are struggling with their own economic crises which the government cannot overcome .

They have banned bitcoin and other crypto currencies in order to start and run their own digital currency. If they will not ban it then how will they run their own. They know well that if bitcoin will be there no one will adopt any other digital currency for their use.

If all nation-states of major size were to ban Bitcoin globally and enforce that ban aggressively, now that would indeed be a problem and force Bitcoin into the dark net. But this is not the case today! Most countries accept Bitcoin or even have recognized it as money or financial asset.

I don't know why anyone would bother with banning cryptos, especially in a country such as Ecuador. Then again, I guess they do have a poor country and they want to maintain as much control over their currency as possible, but at the same time it doesn't appear to be that competitive. To the national currency.

Then again I could be dead wrong.

Oh look price dropped under $200 AGAIN after OP submitted the post, I assume it was the intention right?
Solution to evade any restriction by governments: find a coffee net or library, launch Tor browser, create 2 wallets with brand new email accounts, send your bitcoins to one wallet, from there send them to a mixer service(obviously bitmixer.io) and give them the second wallet's addresses, after receiving the new and untraceable bitcoins in the second wallet you could find a trusted member in here and sell your coins for paypal or credit card. see you just managed to show a middle finger to their superior authority.

It is obvious that regulation will prohibit financial firms from dealing with bitcoin is simply because of the high volatile nature of the coin and they would not risk accumilating the coins ,other than that any individual can hold and trade bitcoin except for Venezula and Bangladesh ,i am not sure about it but i have read it somewhere in this forum about this.

Where did you get this news from.?
I don't know how people think like this. Do you know that China holds the largest number of miners in the world.?
The government may hate Bitcoin for it's features but they can't ban it.

even the government of a country does not accept bitcoin, it does not mean that the citizens will stop using bitcoin. and I do not know many countries ban bitcoin, but just a few countries we can count by fingers.

China and Russia didn't ban it, so we have no worries yet. The countries that made it illegal are too small to affect us in any way. Yes, the two countries making Bitcoin illegal would mean a big, BIG change (the price would freefall) but I don't see that happening.

China have made certain rules for the uses in using cryptocurrencies with setting the limit of trading bitcoins. Russia are tatally confused as they are some time stating legal and some time illegal to sue bitcoins

True I think a ban on the use of bitcoin will not make users stop using bitcoin. because bitcoin anonymous so you can continue to use it. except, bitcoin be legal it would be very helpful

They are just saying that bitcoin is illegal that is why some countries are banning bitcoin and the bad thing for them bitcoin using anonymously they do not know who are using bitcoin that is why even in large shopping stores are not adding this payment method due to anonymous transaction.
Bitcoin is also risky due to the price fluctuate..

Look at the title. And you will see it is fud. Bitcoin at this moment is just following it's own way. Seeing such a stable increase makes people wander as to why they did not buy more.
So in turn they try to fud and hpe they can buy cheaper.

How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/the-russian-bitcoin-ban-is-on-indefinite-hold/

And all of the sadly news have released by the chinese are totally bullshit. Don't bring yourself into all of the FUD, dude. May you see venezuela?

as far I know Bitcoin is not banned in Venezuela, at least according to the law, but I don't know if is restricted or something.

of course in all totalitarians regimes everything is forbidden including what is allowed, so I don't know if Bitcoin is forbidden in practice

Venezuela totally fully with a joke.

There is really no real good reason for any country to ban bitcoin or consider it illegal to own one. From an article that I read, it says that bitcoin is officially restricted only in Iceland, Ecuador and Bolivia, while most other countries are still figuring out how to go about with the cryptocurrencies and what policies should be but in place that would legitimize their use in our daily lives.

It is not really banned in China. There are just some parts of it that is fotbidden. Same with getting in facebook in their country where you would need to go to a specific area to which you could access it. PBOC is also trying to broaden its industry into opening a blockchain for themself so it is not yet over for bitcoin. As of Russia I have no idea yet.

Chinese people migrating to other countries just to keep their bitcoin going and safer. That is a bad thing if you are in the area to where it is restricted. You would really need to just go out of your own country to keep the investment going. Well, if you could afford bitcoins then I think you could go out the country also.

I think most countries will not ban it. The longer Bitcoin survives, the better chance it has to go mainstream. I don't mean that it will replace fiat, but it will have a niche.

Yes, they have more miners but I cant trust most of them because there were lots of them who are doing ponzi schemes; yet they are not reliable if they mined more profits from it or just turned out to nothing but scam. Mining nowadays is not profitable and the cost of operation is higher compared from previous years passed and its impossible to get more btc due to mining competitions.

i do not think that they need to go to any other area, because their own country is more safer than any other country and their country is not going to bane bitcoin, and they are really receiving a good income from it, because most of the users are from China and they are getting much more from mining.

Literally no country has announced we are banning bitcoin, every country is supporting but the only problem people should pay taxes to government on time by using bitcoin. Bitcoin is not running by person and it is completely based on machine instruction called bytes, so one has specific control on it. Only the person who bought will have control on it.

Do you know the entire crypto currencies marketcap is a childplay thing or better like the pennies you get as a change after buying something from a shop for most countries? and I believe many governments around the world starting to accumulate and that is why price is rising, only if people stop selling at these low prices and hold for a more strong demand the'll see that there are even stronger demands than $1500.
"If you can't beat them, join them" but of course a military oriented regime can enforce tyrannical rules such as ban on internet related services.

Russia and China have never banned Bitcoin. In China, Only banks and bank officials are restricted from carrying bitcoin business through banks. To my knowledge, bitcoin was only banned in Bangladesh. You would find difficulties in using bitcoins in following countries Bolivia, Equador,Vietnam Iceland.Other than this , there is no restriction in using bitcoin all over the world.Even US and UK have shown a positive attitude towards bitcoin.

I guess too, the most supported country now as far as I know is china, so how comes to OP that it was banned it that country?
I thought they have big farm of bitcoin Cheesy. And yes, there were few countries that banned bitcoin already, but it was not that easy to let people not use bitcoin.

Do not be too sure about that, because China are working on their own version of Bitcoin at the moment and once this is introduced

to the people, the Chinese might just ban ALL other Crypto currencies. This would be a stupid move, because Bitcoin is accepted

globally and would do nicely as a method to transfer currency over the border. {not capital flight}

How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

Where is the source of this info I want to believe this is conclusion is arrived at based on mere speculation and nothing else because the last time I checked the latest news we heard from China is just the investigation carried out on exchange sites and not ban. And from Russia on the otherhand the latest info is that several conferences have been holding in Moscow the nation's capital...

Question is how can they ban bitcoin? There is always a way to surf on internet undetected, they can control some exchanges but not all. Russia and China will make laws about bitcoin, that is true. They are talking about it, and there is always some news about it, they not hide it, just there wasn`t any mention for banning bitcoin or other alts.
This thread is just a trolling nothing more, nobody will ban bitcoin.

right. China is in the favor of bitcoin and they do not want to ban bitcoin but want to support it. About some parts if you are saying about China then it is not right as Bitcoin is supported by almost all of the China and every part of China accept it on major scale than any other country of the world. In those countries where it is banned are not of that much importance but they are only a few countries which are weaker and are not influential in the world economy.

They can ban it officially and crash the price, but they know that if they do that, the price woudl eventually reocver anyway, so it's a lossing game for them, no matter what they do, the price will eventually recover, thats why they don't ban it, they know that after the ban card is used, they can't do nothing anymore.

I don't think America would ever ban Bitcoin because the government has auctioned off the Silk Road Bitcoins. They can't really auction something off and then make it illegal.

I think most countries will not ban it. The longer Bitcoin survives, the better chance it has to go mainstream. I don't mean that it will replace fiat, but it will have a niche.
of course if all neutral countries or not the ban on bitcoin. of course bitcoin will continue to survive. especially if the country accepts or adopt bitcoin. of course this will be a turning point for bitcoin

How can bitcoin become global when not so few countries, including Russia and China, ban it?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I think these countries that you mentioned have the largest number of bitcoin users

I don't think that China could do ban of bitcoin. Because of many reasons, but in my thinking, China has made the bitcoin and also China has doing a main role to control the bitcoin, and most of the people know about bitcoin because of China. So how could possible that China ban it? Even China announced that bitcoin is legal in his country.

Do not be too sure about that, because China are working on their own version of Bitcoin at the moment and once this is introduced

to the people, the Chinese might just ban ALL other Crypto currencies. This would be a stupid move, because Bitcoin is accepted

globally and would do nicely as a method to transfer currency over the border. {not capital flight}

be sure that they China will not give up from Bitcoin. Although created by our own coin. even as I say it would be very stupid

Bitcoin is not banned in china or russia. I dont know where you got the news from. But yes its banned in few countries. Like I am living in Bangladesh and its banned here by the government but people are still using it, for its untraceable feature. And thats what people like besides high security. As long as the people keeps using it, it can't be stopped by any government. So there is a strong chance for it to become a global currency in the future.

i am for the first time hearing that bitcoin is banned in Bangladesh. and government has officially announced that bitcoin is bane in Bangladesh. because no other country has yet given any official statement about bitcoin. may be some countries will be thinking about it but still there is no any official announcement that either bitcoin is legal or illegal, but i am hopeful that governments will turn bitcoin as legal currency.

yeah ban on the use bitcoin from each country, will not make the user cease to continue using bitcoin, because you can still transact, although bitcoin banned, because of the decentralized nature of the bitcoin

It will surely attain publicity when media and other people would saw the price of bitcoin is already high and with that they will surely got curious why bitcoin does have value which means adoption would really increase even more.It maybe banned for some countries but i believe that there are more countries would accept it,

I agree with you that this both country have accepted Bitcoin but in between they use to issue the notice of warning of using bitcoin or other crypto currency is on the risk of the users and if found any misuse of it then they lead to legal problems. Even China have started to regulate the dealings of bitcoin by keeping the restriction of using the  bitcoin to limit it. This is because their are exchanges who are making a lot of dummy trades to show the high tradings in bitcoin in their exchanges so that users start to use their exchange

If dealing with illegal things, local government must stop or banned bitcoin. We should notice or warning all those who have bad intentions with bitcoin. All of the illegal things must be stop. If bitcoin will be use for illegal things, it is truly right that bitcoin must be stopped or banned.

I guess China is the top user of bitcoin and the origin of bitcoin, how thing goes with this?
But there are countries that bitcoin is banned like in Bangladesh there are some other too, it is because of the fact of they cannot trace those transaction under illegal uses, even in our country but it is not yet banned by the government, but for sure, once it is noticed and being used by most people around and uses it too much in illegal, then for sure, it will be banned by country. But then, the hope of being number currency of bitcoin is still good and strong.

I have read a lot about the ban of bitcoin.
But is there really a country out there where the posession of bitcoin is declared to be illegal by the government?
I have just found this statement from the bangladesh bank: "anybody caught using the virtual currency could be jailed under the country's strict anti-money laundering laws".

And PBOC is even regulating the exchanges. I do not know where he got his information but he is very well misinformed.

Where do you get that kind of info? your just making thread without further research on the topic, and would never ban bitcoin especially china! there are a legal transaction regarding bitcoin on both countries, and I have seen a bigger mining Rig on china where you can see that they are truly serious in investing something on bitcoin I pretty wish the same goes with my country but sad to say that there are still so much to learn regarding bitcoin when it comes in other countries other that Russia, USA, and china!

Possibilities that government will surely block its publicity is very strong and infact they will surely stop before media would expose it to the public because they already know the things that would be mainly affected if people on their vicinity will use bitcoin.

How can China be a no-bitcoin country when it's one of the countries that have the largest number of bitcoin users as well as miners? I'm not so sure about what I know but I've seen a lot of Russian bitcoin users. And why can bitcoin not be an international currency if there are only some small countries doesn't allow it? If developed countries are willing to accept bitcoin, this will make them rethink about their decision.

It cannot become the international currency, and most of us wouldn't agree with this idea even if it could. The reason it cannot become the international currency is that, first of all, the price would have to rise by thousands of times in order for people to regularly use it. If it would stay at the same price it has now, it would mean each of us having around $1.2 and trying to live with that. It's like having a total of $13.000.000.000 in the world - it would be useless.. they also cannot control it. If it becomes the international currency, they cannot know how many addresses you got or so, unless you're being somehow supervised which we DO NOT WANT!

It is obvious that everyone would support a thing.
There are few people who always want to argue and protest against that thing.
Same way , bitcoin also has to face a bit problems to become successful.
But I'm pretty sure I would one day become a successful currency which would be accepted by all.

there are very clear signs from which we can conclude that bitcoin is really so much successful so far. people are adopting bitcoin on a large scale because the demand of bitcoin is increasing from time to time and that is the reason that bitcoin price has cross the 1000 USD level and now trading above 1050 again.
