Even a gambling sites will have a feature like that, I doubt there will be a person who will registered via linking their social media account into that gambling site. In the world of cryptocurrency, we care for our identity so giving away those personal social media account is not a wiser thing to do.

Also I can't seem to understand why those gambling site owners will have a feature like that in the first place. Online gambling is prohibited in some areas since it's not regulated. I will just understand if they are really a registered company and truly recognized as legit gambling site in most of the countries.
I dont know whats the reason behind on those feature which gambling sites do have an option like that and also it seems that players wont really use it at all because as you said we care for our identity and registering on the site using social media accounts is not really good because its like you are showing your own identity to them and its not a wise thing. This is just a useless feature for me.

Everyone so far seems to have given the expected response Smiley

I wouldn't use it either but there are benefits to it.

You don't have to trust sites to store and secure your password. In the event they do not properly secure your passwords a hack or database leak could mean your password is public and can be used to login to other sites where you have used the same password. But you should be using a different one for each site anyway Wink
Using login via Facebook etc means that is not a problem. There is no password to leak.

A site could also set it up in a way where they do not record your name or personal info from the details retrieved from your social media profile. Just your user Id. Though you would be trusting a site not to do this.

A site could aslo setup the login system on a non gambling or bitcoin related domain so that Facebook etc don't know you are logging in to a gamvling site. Sure they could figure out eventually though.

A player could also create fake Facebook account to use for password but then if they are going to go to the hassle of doing that then they probably are the type to use fake email and unique passwords etc.

I was just curious as I was writing an OAuth login system at the moment and wondered if this is a feature to add or not.
As simple as it is to do so it probably is a bad idea and could even put some people off using a site.

Agreed everything you said except that the third party we are talking about is a gambling site.
That's why a lot of people here are hesitant to use their social media accounts to login to.

Personally, I will used my social media accounts to login to a gambling site to play, and once
I'm done with playing in the gambling site, To keep privacy and security, I will simply
"Revoke my access to those sites.

Do you think sites should offer the option of login via social media profile as well as the normal username/password?

What's the essence of anonymity if they are going to require you to log in with your real account. BUt if they are hardly requiring that you can just have some other dummy accounts and let them access that and you'll lose nothing with it. And if that is their own way of requiring a gambler to play with their site, it's their jurisdiction.

Of all the dice sites I've played I haven't really come across where they will require me to signup or login using a social media account. I mea I think if a gambling sites will require that I think that it's a bit redundant with bitcoins feature as anonimity and untraceble atleast to personal details of the one using it. Ifthere are ever I think I'll be using a fake accout which doesn't have my personal details if it's the only option.

I would do the same thing too on which creating or using a fake account if it really needs to log-in on that gambling site and you are right its really opposing on bitcoins feature regarding on anonymity because showing off you social media account will surely expose you off.

i won't mate, most of us gamble using bitcoin because we wanted to be anonymous and with this type of casino we'll be able to do our secret activities so for me i won't use my social media account to log in with any casino house even dice sites i'm willing to create an account using maybe email and use username and password.

I wont log-in my social media accounts when im planning to play on any gambling sites its either dice or pokers etc. because online gambling and real gambling is prohibited on our country which means my identity should not be shown that I am playing gambling because if our government will find out then I would end up on jail for sure.

Not at all, I will not use my social media accounts for login purposes nowhere. These days I also observed many sites offer access to their sites using your one of the mentioned account. I am easy by easy stop using those gambling sites where login required since it is compromise over privacy. Bitcoin has good solution and some gambling sites already allow to complete transaction fully anonymous way.

Would you login to a gambling site with Twitter, Google or Facebook Id?

No I wouldn't login to a bitcoin related gambling site with any of my real life info/details. I like to keep anything bitcoin related totally seperate & distanced from my real details. I'd advise everybody to follow a similar practice.

usually when we start to register on social media such as twitter, google or facebook automatically will provide personal ID and if there is gambling sites have those feature or mandatory must login via social media i think people aren't willing to do that and for me just keep anonymous and i would avoid if there is gambling sites with these kind of feature

Yup this is not safe, I will also not use my personal accounts to play gambling. Govt will catch us this is one reason and if I log into social media accounts my friends, and family members will get to know that I am in gambling activity. I don't like to expose this thing to my family members and friends. So I will not have sine up with my social media accounts.

I see that some gambling websites have the option to share your win on social media and I think it will be a good option to have to be able to login to your account through one of the social media websites. This could be useful for tipsters as people can see their profile and then the stats for the gambling too and would be great fun. I'm sure that most of the people will be against the idea though. AS gambling is still not accepted in the majority of the population and people mostly gamble with bitcoins to keep their anonymity.

Most sites, at least dice sites, provide either a login url (Just-Dice, SatoshiDice) or ask for a user name and password (BitDice, PrimeDice).

One of the benefits of Bitcoin gambling is betting anonymously.

There has been a couple of sites however that allowed you to login with your social media profiles, though they seem to be dead now Smiley

Yes, No problem with the login with any social sites like facebook or gmail .. etc
Of course, if the gambling site is so trusted and secure.
But we should avoid, New sites, that maybe can steal your informations.
So be smart, and try to search first about the sites and decide if you can trust it or not. Because some of sites are scams, In the begining they pay, and after few weeks if they enter in the revenue(loss) They start to scam. so be carefull

I dont prefer to login any gambling sites through my social media profile as i dont want any sort of any problem with the social media account as it contains all personal and professional details. It is also not good as some sites are hacking the personal details and try to login to other sites to hack it. So it is always good to signup with new account with username and password and dont use the passwords which you are using in other sites.

IMO, it will easier for user to register on the site but in other side, our identity will be reveal !
But in the end , it depend on user objective whenever they want to use any login type as long as the site are trustable and long run operated !

I will not log in my Facebook and Twitter account or Gmail account into a gambling site , I'm proud being a gambler but it's good not to publicised it , And it can cause spam to our accounts too. And one thing this can cause our identity revealed if the social media accounts is connected in a gambling site.

I won't also used my social media accounts to login to any gambling sites. Specially if you are working and have a managerial position and up in a company. You command respect. But if they see that you are gambling, maybe some of your employees will lose respect on you because they know that you are a gambler.

No! Never! Not in your dreams  Grin

Let's be fair, BTC gambling is great for one thing only: anonymity
Sure it's not perfect, but it's good enough so you never have to hide your winnings for example.
So giving out my name and linking it to an adress?
