Is there anywhere selling bitfury miners?
I've done many searches and they seem to be the most profitable chip but also seem to be the the most illusive chip as I can't find anyone selling hardware made from them?

I did find nanofury for sale but nothing else? And 40 euros (their currency) seems a little too much for a 6.6GHs miner.

Sidehack here at the forum has few different Bitfury 16nm chip products incoming.

And then there is
Lightningasic.com Bitfury 16nm miner (caution, I have have not heard any comments about this miner here at the forum).
http://www.lightningasic.com/Product/ProductInfo.aspx?PId=23

Hotmine Bitfury 16nm miner / upgrade boards (caution at this as well, I have have not heard any comments about this miner here at the forum and I did not get any response to my e-mail).

If you have very deep pockets and an almost-unlimited budget, I'm sure Bitfury will be glad to talk with you and sell you some of their newest miners.

Here are their offerings

15PH miner: http://bitfury.com/products#container-datacenter
7.5PH miner: http://bitfury.com/products#blockbox-ac

Only problem is that most people do not have that kind of cash.

I would love to get my hands on one of their "container miners". Then my only problem would be figuring out how to pay the electric costs for that monster! LOL

As was mentioned, Sidehack has been working on small miners using BF's chips. From what I understand, he was given access to a small number of chips. But these are in small miners as far as I know.

If you have any success at sourcing more, let us know.
Good luck!

Yeah, if you really got money to invest and other setup for it too, then there is the BlockBox by Bitfury
http://bitfury.com/products#container-datacenter

Quote
The BlockBox IC is the first mobile Bitcoin mining unit that has the scale of a full-size data center, allowing for easy access to the Bitcoin network. For the first time, Bitcoin mining can be readily purchased at petahash-scale.

OK, but I already had this information. It'd be quite interesting to find out how much they are and how cost effective they are. And, once the shipping costs are out of the way and it's connected to the grid then it'll probably d well solomining?
In raw mining on a pool, they'd earn 8.93430089BTC/day. So probably cost around 2000BTC if not higher - they've always been lovers of giving sales worth several million dollars at a time and would never go below that amount again (very helpful for decentralisation isn't it).

Thanks! I'll try to get more information on these sites. May stat off with a samall sale if I consider it worth it. Otherwise, sidehack is a good optionto use providing the efficiency is OK.

Personally, I doubt they have ever manufactured or sold one of these. They have never shown anything beyond simplistic renders, nor has anyone posted pictures, and you would think with such a beast some pictures would leak somewhere...

I don't know if anyone noticed, but it looks to me like Bitfury's hashrate has increased significantly recently, if you go by blockchain.info  ... maybe they did sell a few of these after all...

Good to note Sidehack also plans on selling a S1/3/5 upgrade kit similar to Hotmine so if you want a lower risk way of getting miners then he'd be your guy. Note that it's unclear how much a custom control (likely BBB) and other parts besides the bitfury hashblades will cost on the upgrade. Lightningasic don't seem like the most trustworthy guys to buy from but if you want a miner fast then it'd be the way to go.

If I build an upgrade, and I'm very much planning on it, there won't be any custom controller required and the boards will be volt-adjustable. These are mandatory features for any miner I will ever build.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!
Currently in development - 200+GH USB stick; 6TH volt-adjustable S1/3/5 upgrade kit
Server PSU interface boards and cables. USB and small-scale miners. Hardware hosting, advice and odd-jobs. Supporting the home miner community since 2013 - http://www.gekkoscience.com

Probably best to ask in my hardware dev thread, or better yet on a support thread.

Isn't the idea of an upgrade the fact that the new boards are compatable with the I/O computer and that they use a similar power consumption in order for them to be an upgrade. Otherwise they'd just be another miner.

Maybe they produced more than they could sell and just started using them?
They were asking for people to sell their products for hem as the only way the productswere avaliable. The people who did sign up probably had to buy an item of each stock in order to cover the costs and speed up shipping of the purchased goods.

I'm gonna go ahead and say no. I mean in general yes that'd probably be the case, but not this time. The S1, S3 and S5 all use the same mechanical parts but different controllers, so if you built it compatible with S5 only you'd have to buy a new controller for the S1 and S3. That's what the other guys are doing, I think - or are they making a whole new custom controller for all of them? I forget. If you used the existing controller then you'd have to reverse-engineer the hardware of it, which includes an FPGA for port multiplexing and a specific IO interface that might not be signal-compatible with your chips, so you'd have to put something onboard to translate your data anyway. I'm trying to build around a generic USB interface and open-source cgminer so you can use S1, S3 and S5 chassis interchangeably and almost literally any controller you want, minimizing the total amount of proprietary stuff that causes warranty concerns later on. My design principle is "simple, durable, reliable" - which means I like interchangeability but not complexity.

That's just the way I'm going, anyway. The basic features of my design have been codified since December 2014 or so, I just haven't had the resources to make it real until this year.

That seems quit a good idea to create. Would these be inechangeable with the new miners for S7 and S9 or would they just be for the 1, 3 and 5 versions?
Anyway, all of your miners have previously worked and if you produce enough, you be able to get the blockbox in order to extract the chips and use them (if that was your intention).

No, because the S7 and S9 have no hardware in common with the older versions and run in a power density I'd rather not work with.

I've got assurances from Bitfury to have access to new chips and have been given a bunch of samples already.

How are the smples working - are they at the advertised 0.1J/GH or around that amount?
And the S7 and S9 are definitely at a greater density than the other miners as they have the same size hardware but with more chips inside them.

Not sure, been too busy with other stuff and haven't fired them up yet. I was hoping to get working prototypes built in January but had a lot of stuff piled up and no help. As soon as I have results, believe me I'll make it known.

Yeah, S7 and S9 are stupid density. The only way I'll build a >1KW miner is if someone takes a bunch of my 250W-max boards and puts them in a rack case.

It'd be difficult to produce a miner of that type (took bitmain about 19 batches of S7 miners to make the S9 one)...
Also, I think those were the two miners that supported plugging in three miners into the control computers (even increasing the processing power of the miner even further).

Yes, like previously mentioned in this thread, they have the Blockbox solution for big scale customers.
AC version is 7.5Ph/s and IC version is 15Ph/s.

Briefly said, you need BIG money to buy a miner from Bitfury.

I think if bitcoin mining was not as profitable as it is today then they would sell us the miners and chips. However right now they might as well mine themselves.
