Can we have a bitcoin day?

I would like to call upon entire bitcoin community to make a bitcoin commemorative day also.
Something like World Bitcoin Day.
I hope this will bring bitcoin to more attention.

There is simply not a way to know how many people are using bitcoin, and that makes sense if you think about it since bitcoin offers pseudonymity then a person may hold many wallets and addresses with different identities and no one will know that is just one person holding all those coins.

Yes why not! There is 7/8 special days only  on February So obviously we can have bitcoin day Everyone bitcoin user will participate and observe this day. It can be a great way to exchange our thoughts face to face with many unknown people. It is very much possible I think

Maybe when bitcoin officially becomes a currency recognized by all world standards and it is traded on the stock market equally with all the other global currencies.
That would be the day of bitcoin.

I think that we can have more than one special day, first a more official Bitcoin day (genesis day), second another more commercial day the bitcoin pizza day (for discounts on bitcoin shops). And finally the halving day (big party) only once 210.000 blocks (every 4 years).

Yeah, that is a good one. Here in our country I do really want to know who is using bitcoin and I want to talk to them. Having that World Bitcoin Day will be a way to socialize with other bitcoin user here. You know, talk about bitcoin not only here in the forum but in the real world. That will be really great seeing the people that you have only seen their usernames in this forum.

How about Bitcoin day on 29th of February    That also remind us of halving every four year just like a leap year every 4 year.  Aside from that I do not find any other reason for that day.  But it is symbolic in my opinion since Bitcoin halves every four years.

LOL Yeah that's could be nice. There is a day for anything, why not a day for Bitcoin ? With foreworks, ect... We can decide this without any authority, you know. After 2-3 years with this, it will appear normal to have the bitcoin day.  Media will have no choice to talk abou it...

There are no bitcoin day but its possible to have one. The only problem is who will make the first move since it entails a huge sum of money for it to be realized. Maybe today it will be impossible but in the future if there is somebody who is a billionaire in bitcoin industry who will sponsor then that will be realized.

It will only be realized once it is popular, there is no point forcing it and trying to make it a thing without support from people who are willing to make a "Bitcoin Day" a thing. That being said, you're looking at a large portion of a population accepting Bitcoin in at least one country for something like that to be remotely plausible.

Yeah I hope that there will be a Bitcoin day in the future and some famous people must advertise Bitcoin widely in order to make Bitcoin more popular. In fact, if the number of Bitcoin users keep increasing and increasing, no doubt that the people will choose a day to celebrate Bitcoin.

That came to me  a few days back, but not just a day, it'd be more a combo of a place where various lectures would be held and also, let's say that there would be tickets and when you buy a ticket you get a promo wallet with like 10$ on it, so someone who's new can experience buying things with it, also there should be like stands with food and drinks and like those souvenirs stands. Unlike the regular like a lecture day where various people would speak, we'd have this for the new people to try and buy something via bitcoin. What do you think?

Well that's why it would be a good idea to find sponsors. Aside from the promo wallet, sponsors who decide to place their stands could earn money too. It's far from possible, but it's a lot of hassle for us to organize all of that.

A simple bitcoin day when the genesis block was mined would be ok too, but you'd attract a lot of new people this way.

Yes really that is a cool idea but till now bitcoin is not completely accepted every where. Once it is accepted every where by the governments than we can celebrate day as bitcoin day. Very soon it is going to happen but we have to wait for it patiently.

The certainly we can have a bitcoin day where we can actually shop using our bitcoins, everyone would accept bitcoins , every store , cinema, malls etc:-
Bitcoin day would promote bitcoin and more and more people would come to know about bitcoins
After 2-4 annual bitcoin day people would automatically start using bitcoins and we would not need any of these bitcoin days again
But it would take some time by some I mean a decade , because their are still many countries which lack in education and are having more than half of their population below poverty line ,these countries would take some time to develop so that they can at least buy a smart phone to keep a bitcoin wallet for transactions.
But in urban areas we can start bitcoin day.
Even though it would take a long time of making government to allow transactions in BTC we all would have fun

you are thinking about it the wrong way.
if we start announcing a specific day as "bitcoin day" and each year we start celebrating it at least online, even if it is on social media (online) for example on reddit and we can go to front page for one day, that is already a big enough achievement in my opinion.
and besides bitcoin is global and it already needs internet so why not have the day also on the internet.

That sounds great but who would organize such an event? Bitcoin and cryptos in general don' have a large enough base and considering how decentralized btc is, holding a worldwide event would really be hard.

It would be a symbolic celebration.Everyone will celebrate in its own way.We do not need to celebrate it publicly.
It will also serve the purpose of increasing bitcoin popularity by spreading information about bitcoin hence increasing its users base?

this is a good idea, Bitcoin is being favored people, it's like an era of the times, so I think all of us are responsible. let's make it a day of celebration, a day when the whole world think of Bitcoin. That may be the birth date of Bitcoin, or it can be a specific event, like "Satoshi Nakomo". It's a legend, he can be the representative for Bitcoin, he could be the choice, so we know when is a day of mourning. I really enjoyed your suggestions

Yes, definitely we should celebrate a day for bitcoin which is helping million of people to earn the daily income and pocket money. and in fact celebrating bitcoin day would help the technology to spread like a wildfire and then everybody would start using bitcoin and such a great technology would rule the planet or at least it will get popularity.
