Can we have a bitcoin day?

Yeah, that is a good one. Here in our country I do really want to know who is using bitcoin and I want to talk to them. Having that World Bitcoin Day will be a way to socialize with other bitcoin user here. You know, talk about bitcoin not only here in the forum but in the real world. That will be really great seeing the people that you have only seen their usernames in this forum.

yes that will be really helpful, i think it is one of the most best way of introducing bitcoin to those people who do not know any thing about bitcoin. as we celebrate different day like cancer day, like labour day and so many other day through which we give awareness to the people about different issues and event, so if we start celebrating bitcoin day it will really be helpful introducing bitcoin to the people.

This is surely a great idea and I'm glad that someone has finally brought this idea up. Having World Bitcoin Day will be an effective way to bring bitcoin to people and raise their awareness of it. And what I love about this is that I can connect with more bitcoin users, who are in the same situation with me, and meet them in person.

Yes,and it will be a happy day too. If we have a bitcoin day all bitcoin users will gather in a big and wide place to celebrate and to give thanks to bitcoin for all the good things it gave us. Much better if bitcoin day is a holiday.

I agree that bitcoin isn't famous at all as the mainstream never talk about it. But i don't think something like bitcoin day is required
even though i agree it will bring lots of attention to the currency but in order for it to get something like ' Bitcoin Day' it needs to be
really famous.
So technically if something like bitcoin day is made bitcoin will get really famous but in order to get something like bitcoin it should
be more famous than the current status. So technically bitcoin day won't make any sense.

Yeah, It has to become a little more mainstream. Japan is regulating bitcoin soon and making it legal method of payment in a couple of months. At least 10 countries should do this before I say that bitcoin has become mainstream. Then we can have bitcoin day.

Calendar is filed with more weird and useless commemorative days, compared to them bitcoin seems more fitted to be remembered by its own mini-holiday.
Most of these commemorative days are unknown for anyone besides hardcore geeks anyway. With proper promotion bitcoin's day can be the real deal in the future.
Especially if we can offer some kind of promotion on that day, for example goods will be offered at very reduced prices if you purchase them with BTC.

I don't think this is really matter for bitcoin, but we already have bitcoin day on 3th January as the first time when bitcoin launched and  the genesis block was mined, don't you know about it? We've many 'great days' along bitcoin journey but I don't know which one is the best so far, regarding bitcoin price and mass adoption may become the major consideration for bitcoin best day.

We have a Bitcoin pizza day,which is a really great moment in the history of BTC and maybe one of the most remarkable moments ever.I think this is like the national celebration day but for BTC,so in my opinion if there should be a bitcoin day that is the one.I always feel trembles when I open the thread with the pizza order

Satoshi will decide and set the date and organise the World Bitcoin Day. He will invite all the Bitcoin community leaders and traders and ordinary Bitcoiners to attend the Bitcoin Sumo Festival on that day. He will distribute all of his Bitcoins to his chosen charities.

everyone is entitled to make the event but sometimes events are not realized. considering the bitcoin system has anonymously to conceal the identity of the sender, the holder of bitcoin biggest can make what op wanted (bitcoin day) may exist, but I think the holder bitcoin World wants to hide his identity so that no thing bad happen

Definitely Yes! We can have a bitcoin day! This is a very good idea. I just hope that on that bitcoin day, there will be bitcoin raffles, bingo bonanza, and many more bitcoin games just like some major events or holidays that are being celebrated annually all over the world! But what do you think will be the best date for it?

Further developments need to be made first before thinking of such a thing. Events like these, in my opinion, would only generate a small buzz and could not really help lift bitcoin's status. This is a good idea in the future but not right now that bitcoin is still primarily in its early stages and still has a lot of improvements that has to be done.

That would be funny. I already see people in the news with the "Make Bitcoin Great Again" hats. It is possible to make a Bitcoin Day as long as enough people from Bitcointalk votes on the day they want and the community stays loyal to whatever choice it is.

Yeah they should just rename or celebrate bitcoin day on the same day. I love the "Make Bitcoin Great Again" Hats. Also the fact that that women got pepper sprayed at UC Berkley. That got some coverage in the news and more people get to hear about bitcoins. 

Interesting, I didn't know that women got pepper sprayed at Berkley. Pretty intense. I'll read up on that later.

With the price of Bitcoin going up there is only a select amount of people who know what money actually is.

If Gold goes up to a major level then there will be riots in the streets and they will really know what money is but by then they will prolly be too late.

I like the sound of a Bitcoin Day... Hope we could celebrate it annually and be able to receive bitcoins as a gift from someone...Wouldn't it be nice if we all get to gather around and receive bitcoins for just one day? and forget about this mining jobs and decoding things.

Yah, it sounds good, and the giveaway that you suggested. And once bitcoin day published, then bitcoin will be known worldwide as people or users will gonna gather around to celebrate it.

Yes we can. The Bitcoin Pizza Day, 22nd May, is the best candidate for that in my opinion. When people discover that 10,000 BTC were paid for two Papa John’s pizzas they really start to pay more attention to Bitcoin.

Ofcourse we can. Bitcoin is now have a major part in our society. It's serves as one of our way of earning and paying. We can earn bitcoin and at the same time use it for our everyday need. It ia okay to have a bitcoin day in order for us to enjoy our bitcoins and tell the world what is good about it and be one of us that have and earning bitcoins.

I like the idea of OP, but then like other posted here why having a bitcoin day since the fiat does not have their own day, like fiat day.
But then it comes to my mind that, not only celebrating bitcoin day but promoting to it to the public, this might be world news if ever the event will come true, by then, people will be curious about his and chance to try the bitcoin on their own. Maybe all we need now is someone who will gonna initiate to start this one, but for sure there will be countries that will gonna bash it out, since they banned bitcoin transaction in their country.
But I look forward to this event one day.
