I dont think that there is any chance of war in recent times due to following reasons:

1. Devastating costs.
A 3rd world war is likely to deteriorate into nuclear conflict; the initial aggressor being subjected to almost total destruction. There's no way to 'win'.

2. Lack of capacity.
Compared to the global empires of the early 1900's, most countries have vastly limited war making capacity. e.g. At the start of WWII France had about 5 million troops, in 2012 they have about 350,000. Our capacity has shrunk because war makes less sense in modern times. 

3. Insufficient motivation.
The few nations with the power to instigate a war have no political will to do so. See how unpopular the US/UK governments became after their relatively meagre invasion of Iraq. Even semi-despots like Putin would struggle to incite their populace to war.

I agree with points #1 and #3. However, not so sure about #2. For example, North Korea is having an army of almost 4 million individuals (including reservists) who are highly motivated. The same can be said about certain other third world nations, including Iran and Pakistan.

Motivation is nice, but the motivation is not enough for victory. Experience is of great importance. I am sure that the army of North Korea don't have the experience for war.

No one is having any experience of war. That last world war was more than 70 years ago. The Korean war happened during the 1950s. You can argue that the American soldiers have gained experience from their campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, but here it was mostly guerrilla warfare.

I think it is possible ,As the middle east fighting consumes all the countries it becomes more evident that the fighting will lead to world war III because all countries are destined to go to war. If you pay attention North Korea is already starting to build a nuclear assault machine and we all know what that means. The U.S. falls deeper in debt every second.I don't know for sure, but I don't think it will happen.

The world really is on the verge of world war. The world economy will not rise from his knees. The crisis of overproduction is impossible to stop. A matter of time when all this will happen. World leaders now should stop trading with the aggressive countries to economically weaken their economy and get a head start in a future war.

Whether the war or not depends on people, if we become really more civilized, we will be able to resolve all issues peacefully. Although it still depends on the secret world government. I do not think that the world war will be profitable for them. They will rather benefit from a small quarrel between the countries.

The third world as such can not simply exist and it will not end. After all, the fact is that weapons of mass destruction will play an evil role with all mankind. No one will survive. And everything will be lightning fast.

I doubt that now that Colonialism is done and gone, Africa will definitely not be part of any World War. We will just stay at our homes and give moral support to the fellow countries that we support. But if the next World War turns out to be about religion. The whole world will indeed burn except HE arrives at the predestined time.

Why do you exclude the possibility of war conventional weaponry? The third world war will not necessarily be nuclear. For example in Syria right now fighting is going on. What sense is there to use nuclear weapons? No one will seize the territory of Russia or America. Who will win and who will have control over this country.

i think the reason why it's not yet considered world war today is because the effects are felt pretty much only in the country where it's going on. If the war spreads to the entire middle east and other continents, then that would be the effects of a world war  that we have to worry about. We still have to time avert this and proper conversation would have to be done by world leaders to avoid this apocalyptic event from happening

When the countries aren't developed, just as NK, then they can respond only with force and as I said, respond with force only to another force. Tho, NK has the tech power and a team of hackers, every country does, maybe some african country doesn't. The sanction is really a chance without bloodshed to solve the problems of the world, but unfortunately the world is full of people who make money are able to establish smuggling to bypass any sanctions. Besides, the various States could not agree among themselves. No one wants to lose money. Probably will have to lose the lives of citizens.

You are again wrong about Syria. The Russian and the American militaries are not involved in large-scale conflict. They are playing a supporting role, and no more than a few hundred soldiers are taking part. Another aspect is that, at least for now the Russians and the Americans are on the same side. Both of them are supporting the SDF, and the Americans are tolerating the SAA.
