Unconfirmed for over 48 hours

I made a transactions over 48 hours ago and it is unconfirmed.  I have been buying BTC since early 2011 at $7.

I've never had an issue with unconfirmed transactions and, I'm not sure what to do.  I used Electrum to  send my coin as I have many times.

I see that I messed up and sent all my BTC which left a tiny fee.  I'm not sure how to backup Electrum and pseudo double spend my coin.

Can anyone with experience help me cancel this transaction?

In this transaction he has got 11 confirmations which he's not aware. These days more transaction have been getting delay in confirmation than the usual time even if high fee is used just due to the overlapping taking place between transactions with the same fee recorded into the database.

most probably his wallet is not synced with the network yet.

To OP: let the wallet (Electrum) be open for a while so that it can sync. you can also change your server that you are connected to if you have trouble with the current one.
go to Tools > Network
and it should say 452203 as your block height, if not you can change the server to something else manually (such as ecdsa.org) and wait for it to download the blockchain headers.

If you see only 10k new unconfirmed transactions you can conduct transactions quickly, if you look up to 50k of transactions you can wait to make your transaction until really all transactions other people already confirmed

Guys and gals stay calm, OP might have checked the status of the transaction with Blockchain.info and there seems to be a delay between what the actual status is and what Blockchain.info says it is. This is why I stopped using Blockchain.info and switched to https://blockexplorer.com/

I think people need to stop this unconfirmed transaction story, since two days ago that this story surfaced again, I have made more than 3 transactions and non was stalked for more than 10 mins before it was confirmed, if you want your transactions confirm quick just pay the required fee, you would have your transactions moved

The problem was not with blockchain or the miners. Since there are already 11 confirmations made then the problem possibly lies on the wallet he is using, if he is using a web wallet then there must be a technical error. Or it could be possibly that he has wrong bitcoin address that he sent his bitcoin to. First he must check the address if it is right and if it is right then there is a technical error that occurred or it was just delayed.

I've never experienced it, I know, to cancel the transaction bitcoin can not. I've read that the slowness of the transaction due to network or busy bitcoin blocks to accept bitcoin. be patient, everything would be fine.

This is one of the weaknesses of bitcoin, lots of confirmation and the confirmation need more than 2 days. I can't imagine if user bitcoin reaches 50% of inhabitants of the Earth, obviously the completed transactions take up to 1 year or more. This became the new coins to improve the odds so that soon replaced the bitcoin.

dont worry there's some problem in the blockchain network so wait till your transaction your transaction get confirmed and you have nothing to do obviously. thats the drawback of using bitcoin last few days back I too sufferd problem by sending 0.1 btc and was confirmed after 30 hours and I thoght that my money went in water.

No that is not the only factor, people are sending bitcoin with lower fee than recommended which just filled the mempool so recommended fee per byte got increased to almost over 120 satoshi/byte yesterday.

OP have also only used around 40 satoshi/byte for this transaction which is so much less than recommended but he seems quite lucky to get this confirmed by now.

there are over 60k unconfirmed transactions 2 days ago. bitcoin core is the only client compatible with the blockchain IIRC.

To conclude this thread: Fee for this transaction should be 23040 satoshi not 9600 the op included.
What is happening on the forum now is users post their unconfirmed or confirmed after several hours transaction and cry that bitcoin network is dying.
How can you expect transaction to be included in next block when you are paying 1/2 or less, instead of optimal fee?
Unfortunately this is how bitcoin works right now, hopefully core developers will fix it.

It had zero transactions when I made the post and then showed 11 transactions 15 minutes later.  I had been checking it for almost 48 hours.  That is very strange indeed.  I immediately hit delete post after I posted this and got "You can not delete your own topic".  You know what happens when you assume.  Thanks a lot.

Also I have never worried about the fee or set one on purpose.  I've never had a transaction delayed over an hour except one time it took a few hours.  I guess I'll have to start checking the fee from now on.

This is only strange until you know what really happened. i explained it above too.

you received the transaction but your database (the blockchain_headers file) didn't have it because you were out of sync and had to download the rest of the headers. the last block height you had must have been anything lower than or equal to 452191 so your wallet announced it as unconfirmed.

but as soon as you downloaded the rest of the block headers and was caught up, your problem was solved. now when your wallet checks the database it sees your transaction (b84e73ee4e76....) is fount on block 452192 and based on how deep it is, you wallet announces the number of confirmation.
