I prefer not to even say I am a "believer", there is something called first hand experience, knowing and then of course just good old observation.

Isn't that just anecdotal evidence, which is notoriously unscientific?

Yup, especially from someone who wants to believe.
He already has his conclusion and then does his study to confirm this conclusion. Ofcourse simply ignoring everything that doesn't fit his conclusion.
This is pretty standard behaviour for believers.
And everyone who doesn't agree with them will be called narrow minded.

what i think is happening.;   big guy .. slowly bying up with 1k(ish) buys..     people think .. oh trend is changing..   lets buy..

big guy has  put good bidvolume ..

now big guy bought high ....  he knows price will not go much deeper then 80 ish ... so must atack from a higher price ..

big guy removes bidvolume..

dump enough coins to start panic selloff ..

we all think its cup and handle pattern right? Smiley    well maybe this can be true for the big player to even have the ability  to sell at even higher price..

i'm still full fiat..   got bot ready to profit when we might have some shortterm up rally..
but looking at full orderbook , + asci miners having a lot of coins to sell lately...   i'm not feeling it uptrending already..
although TA indicators are pretty good looking to me for some up trend..

this market is manipulated too much  .. i'd say 1 more time bottom to start trend reversal or stability and slowly growing to the next bubble in januari Smiley

I sold off 85% of my coins as the road to 120 is very steep, there is no momentum ever since tuesday's rally which i hopped in..
And right now, price is being sustained mainly by that 2500 wall which moved from 102.5 to 105
I believe this was a false breakout, walls might get slashed by usual weekend sell off, leading to test double digits again.

Right. The fact that "knowing" comes before "observation" in his post suggests confirmation bias, as well.

good stuff

now just wait till the money from the gold sell off gets here  Grin

MtGox aren't sending international wires out since last week.

Call it a hunch but I'm going to say this might put some people off making deposits.

BS pics or it didn't happen

It's worse than I initially thought - USD withdrawals suspended for 2 weeks !

Damn, their statement makes no sense, if there is rising volumes why only withdrawals are affected..meaning higher rate of cash out..more money out of Bitcoin 'economy' than in. Or they have cash flow issues, funds stuck somewhere like in the USA bank seizure in dwolla affair..

Has this got anything to do with the DHS?....are they able to access the gox details for accounts withdrawals are being made to? i do not believe that higher demand would cause a 2 week delay.

As usual their communication is amateur BS.
Maybe behind the curtains their Japan bank account has been frozen for 30 days pending review.
Inside our hearts we all know that sooner or later it was going to happen. Maybe it is about time to shed a tear and discover what happens to bitcoin without Gox.
Maybe.

Mmm... I sense a replay of the Dwolla-news-effect is coming - just an order of magnitude bigger this time.
Prepare to see price going up on Gox and down on other exchanges.

Not quite - I did a $10k withdrawal last Wednesday and it arrived in my Bank on Thursday.

I did another one on Thursday and it did not get sent.

Whatever happened happened either late last Wednesday or sometime on Thursday.

Many people have been complaining about missing transfers since Thursday 13th over on the service discussion forum.

Yes, the Dwolla incident is going to look like small change when compared with the coming exodus of USD from MtGox.

Wire transfers are how the big money moves. There's going to be some pissed off people with USD on the exchange. Even if they weren't planning on making a withdrawal I suspect they might buy BTC just to move it due to this.

I moved all of my remaining funds already when one of my withdrawals wasn't processed last week.

LOL, I spent about $60k when word of this delay started to emerge last week. This is money I've been sitting on for over a month waiting for lower prices.

I suspect this is the only reason why the price went up to $113 recently - people who were paying attention knew something was wrong and decided to get out of Gox.

I expect to see lots of big BTC purchases very soon.

Well the news is out and it's not like I am seeing mega dump... yet. Actually we are up to 109.8 while I am writing.
In regards to what I wish personally nope I don't give a heck about the price on Gox Smiley
I don't have a single cent / BTC there since last SEPA troubles in April.
