There's no reason why it's impossible we can keep going up, the trend needs to be broken at some point. A few weeks back lots of people were saying that a major retailer adopting bitcoin was the thing that was needed for higher prices. Now it's happened, but everyone is still reeling from China and expecting impending doom.
What happened?
Overstock will accept bitcoin, not exactly eBay or Amazon, but it's making news in the US.

And where do you buy your Bitcoins in the US? localbitcoins.com? So your going to shop online at overstock because it's convenient but first buy your Bitcoin to use there from some guy after setting up a meet or trusting an online trade. Forget about the US, those idiots are gone from the game. Focus on the rest of the world.

look at this chart, bulls think it is undervalued Bitcoin and are not selling, bears thinks it is overvalued and are not buying, there is no action or whatsoever.

I think so, for sure. 300's is going to be a rarity, imo-- 300's, i'd say would be a flash crash for a hot second. 400's we might see at the true bottom, for even a day. idk, my 2 cnts

The only thing I have consistently seen here is when the crowd tips one way, Bitcoin is quite happy to go the other.

With everyone expecting cheap coins - no-one is going to bash the market down just to watch their coins being gobbled up.

I still have a little fiat, but I am beginning to wonder if the low buys I have set up will be filled.

Just wait for more bad news from China.  Anyone who thinks this story is over is deluding themselves.

I love the amount of confidence from some people. A lot of time travelers lurking in speculation forums.

That's why it's called the speculation forum and I'm speculating that bad news out of China isn't finished yet.

I've had three friends pull their money out and walk away from bit coin over the past few days.

Well done market makers / manipulators!

Really?   They didn't know going in that this happens?   I am very careful to explain the risks and how these things work to my friends.   Not one is less interested now than they were, which is to say most are quite sorry they didn't buy when I told them they should  Tongue

Did your friends lose money?

He lost about 3-4K $... oh well

There was a lady who bought at $1000 posting on this forum who had to take out a loan on their house to buy her first BTC. Kept talking about her dad investing 3000 BTC and trying to convince her to make her first buy. I wonder what happened to her.  Embarrassed

I'm still here Smiley. Still reading... Still 'hodling'. I paid $1080 for each of my 11.1 bitcoins and have not sold - I rationalise this like so: bitcoin is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it right? And I refuse to sell them for less, which means they are still worth at least $1080 . Ergo, I have lost no money Wink. How's that for a comforting delusion?

That's not delusion, an unrealized loss is not a loss. I wish I had that strength-- if you continue your patience, you will be rewarded like so many else who have held. Hopefully, it's not rent money, and you don't need to touch it for several months or a year. Smiley

That's a great way of putting it. I'm definitely going to use that when one of my anti-Bitcoin friends throws the dropped price in my face -- "An unrealized loss is not a loss."

No, it's not rent money Smiley. I tried to abide by the old adage; "Only invest what you can afford to lose." I see that one has been thrown around this forum a lot actually. Easier said than done though I suppose!
Glad that helped! Always nice to think through how we might reply to disparagers, even if they mean well. Smiley Glad to hear you're not over invested, too. I see my investment as worthwhile given the risk/reward-- no longer do I fear going to jail for owning BTC Grin

Also, it's interesting to see how you are hooked on the forum-- I read as many of the pages here as I can, too! Unfortunately, I'm coming to realize that since everyone is invested/trading on different timeframes (day, swing, etc.) and has different goals[qed, one man's sell should be another's buy, so more noise than signal], it's more of just a community chat (and preferable to the troll box at btc-e IMO), and the best I can do is learn from the random bits of great wisdom from so many of the more experienced people here.

Also, the news comes here fairly quickly-- it's rare I miss something in the btc biosphere when I'm uploaded to the Wall. Cheers!

Their government is a horrible monster (like a Kraken) that will oppress its people eventually and keep them from using it or wage some ad campaign that pollutes the mind of the citizenry until no one will want to touch it. Just wait and see.

Guys I think there will be still another crash/flash crash that will bring us to a new low assuming that by looking to the other crashes we had before (except if this time is different), I cant imagine how low but I think we will stay above the old ATH ($266), than maybe we will be somehow stable there for couple of weeks than the race will start again.

we will bounce many times and continue the negative trend (if there will be no flash crash)

PS: some people would like to get their cash before the holidays, all banks closed no cash in/out of exchanges and really low volume add to that BtCchina still having deposit issues.

I'm sorry, I totally misread your comment-- thought you said coinbase would be superseded by another US player, not that the US would be. Thanks Smiley
