Parabolic rises always end in tears... for somebody.
Truest words on this forum.
Or... Recovery from crash always ends up in big smiles :p Depends on your point of view! hodlers will be happy regardless I've been through a crash. Been underwater in bitcoin. But I didn't cry, and I didn't sell at a loss. I just DCA-ed down and hodled. And had to listen to the squawk of bears and trolls for 18 months straight. Now I have big smile. And balls of steel. When it happens again, I'll just do the same. If we end the year over 10k, I’ll be happy. This is rising too quickly.

Consensus belief (or collective value is what I like to call it) is what separates something of value to the larger human collective from something that isn't valuable. It's exactly why Bitcoin can have value to a greater collective of people, whereas a near exact clone of it doesn't (no matter what it's trading price might be). This article nails it. https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2017/11/bitcoin-delusion-conquer-world/547187/

A late good morning Bitcoinland.
Seems we're back to going sideways in the $11k-$12k range but I've still gotta say it... another day, another ATH... currently $11773USD/$14963CAD (Bitcoinaverage).
Old coins total $13637USD/$17319CAD) each (Coinmarketcap).
We may be taking a long time to get to $12kUSD/10kEUR but that's fine with me. Slow and steady wins the race.
Go Bitcoin go.

Was it really? Or do you mean it was unexpected that they'd flip around so quickly?

There’s something going on. Bitcoin is being unnaturally squeezed into a 20€ trading range of 9980 - 9999 on Gdax. Something has to give, and when it gives there will be a pop.

Still groggy, should have got a coffee into me before posting. _____ I just checked Coinmarketcap and they say it's over 10kEUR. Bitcoinaverage, whom I trust more, say it's only 9990EUR. Do we consider this landmark reached?

Are you feeling any better about this? The more I think about it the more it worries me... Nope. There will be tears. But what can you do? I seem to recall someone connected here telling the story about every financial player only asking one question after being informed in detail about it - how can I short it? This was pre late 2013. That goes to show how clever these people are. They may have their shiny instruments. Unlike almost every other market they play with outside stocks, there are real little people and old school whales who may have completely different plans.
