In order to dump coins one must have coins

One question how much can we trust these third party wallets then? Specially these wallets on our mobile apps. Although they give us access to the private keys but still can we trust them? I have been using Jaxx. But often I will open my wallet to confirm my coins are still there or some developer of Jaxx have already transferred my funds to some cold wallet :p

Ideally you want an open-source wallet so you can at least have some hope that someone without vested interests has had a look.

Top 20 Bitcoin Wallets App for 2021. I think safewallet is trust worthy and it supports large number of crypto currencies.

https://www.guru99.com/best-bitcoin-cryptocurrency-wallets.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8OL6dmpeEM

#1 Coinbase (and surprisingly there's an ad for Coinbase)
#2 PointPay Banking Wallet - WTF is that?
#3 Binance chain (BNB)
#4 Trezor
#5 Bitfinex
#6 Paxful wallet
#7 Ledger Nano
...

yeah ok, any site that puts Coinbase wallet before Ledger is just for lolz. Don't try to confuse noobs if they want a wallet get a coldcard or something from here https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

LOL.  Every time I search Lauda’s voluminous post history for random keywords, I find more evidence that the cat was a divine presence that this forum did not deserve.

Sorry Lauda

you no longer meet the minimum requirements to occupy pixels on my display
Yawn. You contributed nothing to this place in 7 years, therefore you might as well royally fuck off with your libtard bullshit - being worthless and all. Cheerio.

It must be depressing to be a conservative.
Times have changed. The libtards are destroying society.
Wtf exactly is a “libtard” anyway ,ffs?
It has the ring of some juvenile term a 10 year old would come up with,
along with sticking out their tongue and waving hands with thumb in ears.....
Nice poisoning of the well. I assume you support libtard views based on that response.  Smiley

Damn, where is V8s?  Sad

It must be depressing to be a conservative.  In the long run, you always lose the culture wars:

It must be exhausting to be constantly on the wrong side of history

You are beginning to show signs of cottoning on, so partial congrats.
It is indeed quite exhausting and sometimes depressing keeping standards up, fighting for calm, common sense and decency, batting away immature boundary-testers with our innovative blue-died water, our cunning fire-setting in the jungle and our nods to your 'diversity' in the very House of Commons.
While I am delighted you seem to think these seeming gains for socialism counter the deals we make behind the scenes which actually run the world, I am saddened that you show no signs of knowing how long the long run is. I demand a more far-thinking opponent.

A bonus protip.. you do not become richie by selling your BTC.

Without selling any BTC how you will be rich then? Of course selling all will be stupid.. but you have to sell sometime... world still runs on fiat...  Sad (and Merc, GMC, Toyota, Honda etc)

Surely the implication of my above snipe is in regards to selling all or selling too much too soon.

Of course, also, there is a need to figure out a kind of balance, but in these times, there should be goals of figuring out accumulation goals and attempting to manage such accumulation goals.  Once you have achieved your BTC accumulation goals (and perhaps even over-accumulating) then you have a lot more flexibility in terms of selling portions or reallocating or whatever.

Bonus protip 2:  attempting to accumulate BTC by selling BTC is quite likely a very much inferior strategy to DCA buy, buy on dip and HODL -

Bonus protip 3:   Like any rule there are exceptions, don't automatically believe that you are going to be able to fit within the exceptions - until you have mastered and understood the basics first - which in BTC are DCA buy, buy on dip and HODL.

if all you do is buy to acquire BTC

DCA & buy dip HODL are best.

Of course, there are some other ways to acquire BTC, such as getting paid for providing goods or services or mining.. but I am largely trying to focus in on the implicit suggestions of some of the various earlier posts that seem to be battling with where exactly selling fits into any bitcoin strategy, and surely I am trying to emphasize that if you have not yet reached your accumulation goals then selling with a hope of buying back lower remains a kind of gambling approach rather than a prudent approach...

Sure, on this particular point, philip, you and I seem to NOT be very far apart, and in the end, guys can do whatever they want, even though maybe both you and I will be suggesting them to be fools if they are regularly and ongoingly fucking around with selling some or any large portion of their BTC in order to attempt to buy back lower.

To think you can buy the Dip  sell the peak Wait for the crash and buy in real low is a pipe dream.

Sure it can work for some people, but it does not tend to be a very good practice - unless done very limited in scope, and many of us recommend staying completely away from such an approach, like you are saying because with a long enough time-frame (historically at least 4 years), BTC has historically tended to go up in price - and there are no real signs that such ongoing UPpity trends are NOT going to continue, even if there are no guarantees with any investment, including bitcoin - even when the odds of going UP and continuing to go up and to pay off with ongoing investing into it, seems to be quite decently well in the whole scheme of things

Even though I mine for most of my BTC

I buy dips on PayPal for PAYPAL btc
I DCA  on coinbase.

It does seem a bit strange that you have likely been into bitcoin since 2012 - presumably by your forum registration and you are still in BTC accumulation mode - and even more surprising given your age, too..

You likely have a decent amount of mistakes were made considerations in terms of some selling too much bitcoin in early days.  I mean I can imagine sub $10 bitcoin and just being able to have a decently sized stash from those kinds of prices..

sure, I personally got into bitcoin at around $1,200 and was able to buy quite a few coins in the 3 digits including getting a coin or so at $180 in the January 2015 dip, but still I probably only shortly brought down my average BTC price to around $400 before it ended up shooting up to about $750 based on one of my mistakes were made situations... that involved hackings and some failures to adequately security my sim porting situation.. and I had not realized it as such a powerful attack vector prior to suffering from it...

right now coinbase has a nice setup a $50 usd weekly buy and they give you $10 on 4th and 8th buys.
so 420 worth of btc for 400 via a weekly DCA of eight weeks.

And those are not bad incentives (bonuses) for folks trying to reach their BTC accumulation goals.

Man, the 59-60k range is proving to be a right pain in the ass

Does it mean that you are "bored?"

For me, there is a Lindy effect feeling that is going on.. call me LindyJGee.. or maybe I should solicit a change to my nym?

For us this 59-57-59 daily action is quite boring, but for the daily traders who follow the trend it is like living in a scary movie (which they put themselves into because of their stupidity). I guess they screem like little girls when selling with a "stop" loss each day, until their "stop" loss adds up to a complete loss of their resourses. I am lazy to write the code counting all their losses, but it seems that the turning point when these weak hands will be removed from the game is quite near.

Edit. I've just noticed that the volume of the latest stop loss is 4-5x bigger than the previous dips in the last days. So there is a good chance that this will be the last dip before breaking 60K and heading towards 100K in the next weeks.

Bold assertion.. if I do say so my lil selfie.

That's the dilemma even if you commit not to sell any large amount but a small to sell at "high" and buy back "low"...  you don't know when this will happen.... I have to confess here that when this year BTC hit $40k i did thought of selling "some" ... but I did not (thanks God) and however later sold "some" at $54k and $53k... just to buy back later.. i never cashed it out... but now I have been waiting since then to buy it back Sad

So what are other ways to acquire BTC? mining atm is not an option for obvious reasons... providing goods and services.. there aren't many.. here on bitciontalk i never got convinced enough from signature campaigns which force you to post 15-20 posts per week and pays you what $20?? how about the time you spent writing those post does it worth. I can't do that most of the time i will be in reading mode here on bitciontalk...

now please don't hate me and let me ask what "other ways to acquire BTC"??... So sh*tting around with shitcoins, is this an option?

I'd add to that any software / hardware that is supported with wallets such as Electrum or Bitcoin Core / Bitcoin for Android. My hardware wallet equivalent is an airgapped machine, but then I think I know what I'm doing. (I could be mistaken and not actually know everything that's going on, but that would seem unlikely.)

Is it in a Faraday cage setup?

I have found this company to be the best:

Of course you can use multiple layers of tin foil, but personally I require a lot of foil for my hat, mask, and underwear on a daily basis. Tongue

Good morning WO! The "battle" for 60K continues, but not for long. Short-sighted daily traders don't realize what is going on and sell their last 0.0001BTC what was left from their initial 0.01BTC. However, the bigger picture is quite good with all the big investors in play. And the liquidity crisis is getting even deeper. The BTC reserve on exchanges continues its descent which started a year ago. Currently the decrease is between 25% and 33% on the various exchanges. And this is a lot! In 2 years there won't be any Bitcoins left on the exchanges, if this trend is kept. In the last 24 hours only, for example, the total reserve decreased with nearly 100K BTCs (-4% for the day). And on the biggest USA exchange it hit another low with a -10K BTCs for the day. And this happens almost every day. This is the opposite to what happened in 2017, meaning that we are at the beginning of the real mass adoption which establishes Bitcoin as the best performing asset in all times worldwide.

This!

I am keeping a close eye on the on-chain analysis and also news regarding ETFs, corporate involvement, etc. Things are looking real bright right now and when this dam breaks it will break big. Could be in the next few days, if not, it won't be too long. An ETF is right around the corner, many people will (I think) plow their 401ks etc into an ETF. I've been waiting to do that for years now, just wish I could invest directly, but local laws suck.

He's very good brother...

prolly just rebuilding that V8 Interceptor to be, you know, even FASTER. Tuning it for those citadel to citadel runs runs and such, and scouting good locations for food, medical, ammo, fuel and spare parts stashes along the way.*

V8 strikes me as the type thats plans ahead pretty bigly.

* prolly hookers and blow stashes too.
